Flash Harry To Join Wargames Illustrated’s Giants In Miniatures Range
February 4, 2016 by brennon
Wargames Illustrated have been working on another miniature for their Giants In Miniatures range and they have announced that Flash Harry has popped up for your Napoleonic gallivanting around a battlefield somewhere...
He does look like a rather flashy individual...
"‘Flash’ Harry is depicted here in the uniform of an officer from the East India Company on service during the First Anglo-Afghan War but he could equally be found at the Charge of the Light Brigade, out in the American West or amongst European nobility.
Considered a hero across the British Empire, he is happy to cultivate this image whilst retaining the ability to flee from battle as often as not. He is known as a fine proponent of the sword and rides very well, in more ways than one. When cornered, he will fight to preserve his life but much prefers the art of fast talking and faster running.
As a man, he is a rake and a cad. As a symbol, he is the man others wish to be."
...so he sounds like a piece of work but a good soldier. Someone for a general to keep in check. If you're interested in more of their range you can see them below.
This is a good collection of characters from history and hopefully we'll see their range develop towards the Ancient and Medieval eras too.
What do you think of Harry?

Really interesting and characterful range of Minitures.
Nice looking figure
But there was me expecting a model of George Cole in a long coat and trilby
The book series are fun and it looks like they’ve used Malcolm McDowell’s portrayal from “Royal Flash”. Would be fun to make up some special rules or victory point conditions for his abilities – Cad and Cowardice.
better start smocking the kippers then?
I just finished the first of the Flashman books yesterday. Harry Flashman may well be one of the most wonderfully despicable characters I have come across.
Pretty cool looking dudes.
Isn’t Ciaphas Cain from the 40K books meant to be based if not a little homage to Flashman?
If not then the resemblance is pretty uncanny. However, I will say that Cain is a good sight more moral than Flashman. Let that sink in for a minute.
