Finish Off Age Of Sigmar’s Dawnbringers Series This Weekend
May 20, 2024 by brennon
Whilst the new edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar might have taken the wind out of the sails of the end of the third edition of the game, the Dawnbringers series continues as the narrative pushes towards a climactic finish ahead of the Skaven swarming into The Mortal Realms.
Dawnbringers Book VI - Hounds Of Chaos // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Shop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar @ Store.OnTableTop
Hounds Of Chaos follows the final moments of the Twin-Tailed Crusade which is looking to firmly establish two new cities in the name of Sigmar. Verdigris and Embergaard are however now threatened by the deadly forces of Chaos, led by the Darkoath and Abraxia.
The new book will contain rules for playing as Abaraxia as well as all of the new Darkoath units and Brand's Oathbound. It should be noted that the rules for the Darkoath and Abraxia should also be available free HERE. Specific rules for the likes of Armies Of Renown and such will still be locked behind the Hounds Of Chaos book. You will then be able to dive into the final part of a Path To Glory narrative which explores whether or not your city survives this assault by the forces of Chaos.
Miniatures-wise, you get a new character and her retinue in the form of Abraxia's Varanspear.
Abraxia's Varanspear // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Abraxia is a pretty awesome new miniature and comes armed with her deadly spear which is just as likely to hurt her as it is her enemies. She is backed up by a trio of Varanguard, all looking to impress Archaon and perhaps ascend through the ranks.
Sticking with the rise of Chaos, there is also a new terrain piece to help set the scene.
Nexus Chaotica // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This is a sign of Chaos ascendant. It builds power points throughout the course of the game before boosting the spells cast by your mages, warlocks, witches and more. It can even corrupt other terrain features with its Chaos energy.
Another characterful set for this new Dawnbringers book is Brand’s Oathbound.
Brand's Oathbound // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Gunnar Brand leads this set of three different Warscrolls based on the characters from the Hammer And Bolter series and the upcoming Gunnar Brand book. Any of the Grand Alliance Chaos factions can call on these warriors although I sense they might be less than willing to fully submit to the Chaos Gods, regardless of who they fight for. They would be perfect alongside the new Darkoath of course.
Darkoath Army Releases
Talking of the Darkoath, all of the plastic miniatures for the new Darkoath are now going to be available separately. We've talked about these many times in the past so just dive in and bask in the glory of these new barbarian warriors.
Darkoath Chieftain On Warsteed // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Darkoath Wilderfiend // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Darkoath Marauders // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Darkoath Fellriders // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
All of these miniatures will be available separately for the first time, allowing you to bulk out your Chaos force and replace some of those older Warhammer Fantasy Battles miniatures in your collection.
Returning Characters
Capping things off, two characters from earlier Dawnbringers books are going to be made available separately.
Sekhar, Fang Of Nulahmia // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Krethusa, The Croneseer // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Enhance your Death forces or aid the forces of Order with the addition of an unsettling ally. If you missed out on these from previous boxed sets, you can now get your hands on these miniatures to slot into your army or perhaps just as fun painting projects.
Will you be getting any of these new Warhammer Age Of Sigmar releases?

Krethusa looks awesome, so I might have to pick her up if she is available by herself.
She will no doubt be later on down the line
This is her solo release outside of a big boxed set, so fill ya boots @lordaba 😀
…I realised I mistook Krethusa for Abraxia haha. Yes, Krethusa is available separately now!
Abraxia and the Nexus are must-haves for me!
