Try Out New FFG Dice Game Age Of War & Be A Shogun!
September 6, 2014 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games are bringing the dice game Age of War to the tabletop and it looks like this could be quite the cool filler game that you bring out at a gaming session!
The game has been designed by Reiner Kinizia who is quite the big name in the world of board gaming and he's done a lot of great games in the past. Some of them are fiendish but this one sounds like a really cool way of simulating the fluctuating power struggle in Japan.
Each turn you'll roll the various army dice and try and put together a force to take on the different castles on the board. You'll be rewarded victory points for doing so and then more if you manage to conquer castles belonging to the same clans.
Fight over castles with massed armies and secure as much support from the clans as possible. Dice games are quite the big thing nowadays so this could well be quite the hit.
What do you think?

Rip-off Britain again…
FFG List price = $12.95
Exchange rate: $1 = £0.60 (approx)
So why am I seeing this priced in the UK at >£15?
I will not be buying this until it’s priced correctly – unless anyone knows where to get it <£10
Dude they have got to ship it over here too. It’s not that bad a price. We’re the only country where GW products are actually cheaper.
Boardgameguru was 7.99 I think..but sold out like many places.
Over inflated prices is the case with a lot of board games.
Postage from the States is really prohibitive for individual parcels.
But I don’t see why distribution of games should not bring that cost down
However just found this

£9.99 + Free shipping
Down side is shipping within 1-2 months, which also suggests they need to order from the States
I bought this game the other week from my local board game cafe. It’s a great little dice game with an Elder Sign feel, rolling dice to complete the tasks. I think paid £16.49 for it, a little bit expensive for a small box game but really like it and it is so quick to learn you can teach it within a few rounds
