Fenris Feature Three Fantasy WiPs
October 8, 2014 by dracs
Fenris Games are working on three more fantasy styled miniature sculpts and have posted a pic of all their WiPs together.
The large, pig faced monster is a troll hunter, an interesting and somewhat retro take on trolls that recalls the pig faced orcs that used to appear around fantasy games. Second, we have a stag beetle, and riding that stag beetle is a goblinoid fellow called a snaga rider.
Funnily enough, the one I am most excited about is the stag beetle. The one shown here is an early bronze master cast, with the addition of saddles, baggage and variant sculpts promised down the road. I love the idea of having a cavalry unit of giant stag beetles. I believe Kings of War has rules for a nature army, but leaves it pretty open as to what that means exactly. Maybe an army of insect riders and giant bugs could be fun.
Which of these three do you think is best?
I remember the dim distant days of pig-faced orcs.
I prefer the Middle-earth style, especially the Uruk-hai. Much more intimidating.
