Fantasy Vikings Spotted On The Horizon From Pagan Miniatures
February 10, 2020 by avernos
Pagan Miniatures are a new company that are gearing up for their first Kickstarter this month to launch their range of 35mm fantasy Vikings. Some of these sculpts may be familiar as Pagan Miniatures have picked up the Norse range that Daniel Kelly had sculpted previously for Wrathborn, and Lion Tower Miniatures are providing the sculpts to expand the range and bring a touch of rampaging goodness to the tabletop.
The most recent preview are a pair of new sculpts based on the owners of Pagan Miniatures that will be available during the Kickstarter only.
The shieldmaiden is striking a nonchalant, I'm just here waiting for the battle to begin, pose and Daniel has done lovely work on the sculpt with little touches that you may not initially see. The scabbarded sword held behind the shield was something I had missed in the first picture for example, and I think it shows that she is prepared(expecting) to break her axe over some numbskulls head. So remember kids when going to war always bring a back up weapon.
Foot on rock has been upgraded to foot on stump for the raging giant of a man that is the beserker. Rocking a sword and axe combo and very little else, like a Newcastle fan in January, he's either made of much sterner stuff than I or he's in the process of invading warmer climes. Regardless he's a beauty with a beard that almost gives me envy.
Apart from the Kickstarter exclusive pairing Pagan Miniatures have been showing off other sculpts that will be joining them on the Sons of Odin Kickstarter like this beautiful scout.
Once again it's the details that make this range stand out for me, despite having to scout Øystein here has stopped off to catch a brace of rabbits for the pot. I think that this range of figures will be an excellent for skirmish based games like Ragnarok, or Saga: Age of Magic. But equally they could happily join the Northern Alliance in Kings of War or a RPG groups wandering band.
If you like the look of them keep an eye on the Pagan Miniatures Facebook page, announcements are expected next week and there are plenty of other miniatures to take a look over to whet your appetite.
Are you a Son of Odin, or a Daughter of Freya?

A man with a belly! Finally not a cripple! 😉
Wait, so is Wrathborn dead now?
has been since the end of last year, Daniel made an announcement about it on facepage I believe
No Wrathborn is not dead now, I still own the IP and I am still working on the game, as well as writing my first novel, set in the world. As you can imagine, this will be a long process as I am a on my own now. Once i know how the best way to get the game out to you all, then I will but i hope you understand I have a lot of work to do for it, page layout, artwork etc, plus with out any miniatures to support this it will just be the rulebook and… Read more »
I tried to see if the group was active awhile back and was met with basically silence, there wasn’t any active post since October of 2019, Sad. I did see this Kickstarter mentioned there But that was quickly removed for some reason. Hopefully things get better for the wrathborn world and things will be coming soon™️
“like a Newcastle fan in January” – I nearly had a wee accident from laughing so much!
These are right up my alley.
The world needs more thicc shieldmaidens!
