Quirky Fantasy & Fossil Hunting Miniatures From Antediluvian!
October 27, 2020 by brennon
Antediluvian Miniatures continue to explore the weird and the quirky with a few new previews of what's coming to support their varied collection. We start with something from the realm of both Fantasy and History with "Fight In The Forest" which is based on the work of Hans Burgkmair.
Fight In The Forest // Antediluvian Miniatures
This pair of miniatures are meant to be posed together to match the artwork of Burgkmair who showed off a knight battling one of the woodwoses deep within the woods. It's always nice seeing Antediluvian doing more work based on ye oldy art and I think this would be a fun diorama to paint up with an appropriate background. Of course, you could also just paint them up separately and use them as part of your Fantasy force.
Fossil Hunting
As well as that pairing you can also pick up a rather quainter looking duo. If you want to go fossil hunting on the tabletop then you will also be able to pick up miniatures for Mary Anning and her dog, Tray soon too.

Again, this is based on another piece of artwork featuring this rather iconic lady. She wandered the Jurassic Coast of England and made her name collecting fossils, selling them and getting a deeper understanding of palaeontology in Dorest.
She was credited with finding all manner of fossils and skeletons despite being excluded from the scientific community for being a woman and Dissenter. This might be quite a nice gift to paint up for someone but I also think she'd make an excellent investigator in a Pulp horror mystery too!
What do you think of these very different previews?
