Fantasy Flight’s Fallout Board Game Expands Into New California
July 14, 2018 by dracs
Fantasy Flight Games have announced the coming of a new expansion for Fallout: The Board Game. It's time to explore the wasteland of New California.
New California brings plenty of opportunities for the right wasteland wanderer looking for loot and the chance to make a name for themselves.
The expansion brings with it twelve new map tiles, two new scenarios and five new survivors, each with their own traits and skills to help you make your way in the irradiated wastes.
Of these, the NCR Ranger my be my favourite. I have always liked playing the sniper, and her ability to get into an advantageous position sounds very useful.
The two new scenarios offer some interesting new ways to play the game. One sets you all between the forces of the Brotherhood of Steel and a secret power growing in the background, while the other sees you all working together for the good of a settlement.
Do you like the Fallout board game? What do you think of this upcoming expansion?

I still want to get the board game and now with an expansion coming I want it even more. ?
Me too.I love the Survivor mini’s here and the Core box.
great looking figures.
Does anyone have much experience with the base game? As a Fallout fan I’m tempted but not sure if its good mechanically or not. This appears to be more of the same rather than making any changes, so I guess that suggests they didn’t feel a need to course correct?
Nice – I’ve managed to play four games so far and while the mechanics are very neat, it is quite clear that the game would benefit from an expanded pool of starting settlement and ruin encounter cards to give more variety to each of the scenarios in the box. It isn’t clear if the new cards can or will be added to the starting pool for existing scenarios or if they are only for use in the two scenarios included in the expansion.. but I’ll be picking up this regardless.
Poking about a bit that does seem to be consistent feedback on this. It needs more random event cards to avoid becoming repetitive. I’m still tempted though!
