Fantasy Flight Show It’s As Easy As A, B, X-Wing In Rebel Aces Preview
June 24, 2014 by dracs
Fantasy Flight Games are preparing to release the Rebel Aces expansion for X-Wing, featuring an alternate paint scheme A-Wing and B-Wing, along with new rules and tactical options for Rebel admirals to utilise.
To give us an idea of what to expect, they have put out a preview for the new A-Wing!
The Rebel Aces set allows you to let your A-Wings be piloted by two new aces. These heroes of the rebellion are well versed in these maneuverable little fighters, and know just how to use to them to their full potential.
Now players have the option of fielding Jake Farrell, a pilot whose ability provides you with free actions,
or Gemmer Sojan, who excels at fighting at tight quarters with the enemy.
The expansion also provides you with two new upgrades for your A-Wings, providing you with even more options when it comes to battling it out in the depths of space.
Full details on these new goodies can be found at Fantasy Flight Games, along with some tactical tips of how best to use these new additions to the Rebel fleet.
Of course, it's not just the A-Wing that is getting some goodies, as the B-Wing is flying out with it. It will be interesting to see what new tactical options Fantasy Flight have come up with for it.
Do you ever use A-Wings? Do you have any tactical tips for games of X-Wing?

The A-wing just got dangerous.
More options for my favourite A wing. Don’t leave Tatooine without one.
I love the idea of the A-Wing, and immediately bought a bunch hoping they would be awesome. But it just didn’t turn out to be that great a ship. These new upgrades for it look they could finally make the A-Wing the ship I wanted it to be. I really appreciate that there are two copies of each upgrade card in the box too because I can start deploying some great lists right away after only buying one of these expansions and using the A-Wing models I already have.
I just use the one in conjunction with some x wings
Oh man, the time of the A-Wing is upon us!
Already pre-ordered.
I have resisted for so long to start buying X-Wing, mostly because I’d spend a bunch of money and no one near me is that interested in playing. But then my girlfriend bought me one of the original B-wings as a random “out of nowhere” present (B-wings were always my favorite) . . . and now the ice is broken! I have begun the slide into madness and poverty! 😀 B-wing aces in new paint schemes will certainly not help things.
Bwah ha ha ha! Welcome to yet more hobby to ruinate for your wallet. Just wait til you discover there is No Such Thing as too many TIE Fighters. It’s ok, we’re all there already, waiting for you.
