Alien Fans; Get Your Own M577 APC From Prodos Games
July 22, 2017 by brennon
Prodos Games have gone all out on one of their latest projects which brings the M577 APC to the tabletop, an iconic vehicle from the ALIEN franchise.
This is a pretty big kit measuring 173mm in length and standing at 60mm in height to the top of the turret. It comes armed with some hefty weapons with the Gatling Cannons mounted on the hull...
...and the Plasma Cannons mounted on the top for taking out those bigger bad guys that you might end up running into.
The APC also has a fully detailed interior with a command centre and drivers section ready to be painted up.
This would make for quite the collector's piece even if you never used it in your games. I could see this taking pride of place on someones shelf for sure.
It has also been designed using their Unicast system and will come as a big ol' block of resin. With that in mind it's going to be fun trying to unbox one of these but maybe we'll get a chance in the future!
Do you think you'll be picking up this kit when it launches in August?

Oh my!
Any ideas about how much this one will cost?
~€80 according to their website. Which makes it an expensive ass piece of resin.
I like it and it’s definitely better than some of the alternatives (such as the Scotia Grendel APC) but I’m unsure about whether it’s worth the difference in price for anyone other than the most dedicated AvP fan.
Still, price aside, it’s a lovely looking model
Would rather get the rest of my AvP KS I paid for 3.5yrs ago….
When you got the dropship you better get the apc ^_^
It’s…..it’s beautiful.
That’s really good looking APC and it really looks like it did in Aliens.
How about finish the kickstarter! It’s coming up to 4 years since it funded!
How about give an update to kickstarter backers!
The bullshit poured on kickstarter backers from Prodos continues.
It’s funny how they keep managing to get approval off Fox for stuff that isn’t anything to do with the kickstarter.
Prodos can f*** themselves if they think they’re getting any more of my money.
And shame on BoW for continuing to promote these shyster b******ds.
It’s clear that Fox doesn’t care about Prodos Games’ customers. Then again we are talking about company that keeps getting first family of comic books Fantastic Four wrong and cancelled Firefly because of they own stupidity of changing it’s program slot when it originally aired on they channel.
and Sarah Conor Chronicles. And Almost Human. I think Fox just hates sci fi
Almost every sci-fi and fantasy show they had a hand in never came to a conclusion because they only see them as gimmicks in order to draw people in. They don’t truly care about any of these things because profit margins are what matters. As soon as the numbers drop slightly they move onto the next idea.
You mentioned the cancellation of Firefly…now I will have to go back to anger management class again 🙁
The low clearance on this thing always annoyed me, and it only has four wheels. Not much good for any cross-country stuff.
… and of course, they boned the Kickstarter folks. Pass.
I am sure a company has/had a six wheeled version of the APC a year or two ago.
This?

that’s the one I think yes.
I would use it as a proxy for a Taurox in my 40k Guard Army
Prodoss is dead to me…
I never got into the KS and I see them as dead to me, just because of what they did to them.
Thank you. Your support means quite a lot. When people like Prodos scam you for $100s it can feel quite lonely. Hearing that others are taking them to account is really very heartening.
There isnt a company out there with a reputation as bad as Prodos in our industry.
And they deserve it.
Yes there is. Games and Gears; their gaming boards kickstarter did the same.
Personally I don’t have any issue with Prodos; their reputation is only really bad among people who backed the kickstarter and got late deliveries or haven’t received everything yet
If you promise people something and take their money and then fail to give them anything doesn’t that make you a thief?
Kickstarter and fraud investigations are a tricky one. Take it from someone who knows
I think I remember reading that with Kickstarters the backer is treated as an investor helping try and launch a product rather than buying something. Not sure what how this all stands legally
That’s how I view myself whenever I pass money to a Kickstarter campaign. I’m not technically buying something I am investing in a company so that they can produce something. I receive my dividend in the form of some of the final product. As with investments they can go down or up meaning I may get more than the advertised pledge or I may end up getting less. You pays your money and takes your chance
Ah a fair point, I’m still very sceptical of Prodos though, the guy running it has come across as being very negative in almost everything I have read about him.
I guess that depends on where the stuff you have read about Prodos is written. Most forums (BoW included) have a lot of vocal detractors, most of them disgruntled backers. Now, they’re absolutely right to be angry but they aren’t the majority of backers and the people who backed and are happy probably don’t much care for the drama surrounding the Kickstarter so you probably won’t see rampant positivity about Prodos in the same way that you see rampant negativity, much like you don’t see the same positivity about any other kickstarter. When people are satisfied, the spend time enjoying… Read more »
I’d certainly hope the majority of AvP Kickstarter pledges have been fulfilled by this point – let’s not forget that the Kickstarted boardgame was on retailers shelves 2 years ago now!
They’ve managed to pull a swifty with this one – due to a “licencing issue”, the campaign was pulled from Kickstarter after it had funded, Prodos said this was an error when they tried to change something, the offshoot is KS have wiped their hands of it.
The majority of products have launched and are widely available to the public, just no the backers. Meanwhile instead of producing the outstanding KS stuff – 3D terrain tiles, additional minis, they coming out with the dropship and APC
It basically means you have no come back if things fail. It’s why I object to companies like CMON using crowd funding as a preorder system. It means the backers shoulder any risk and don’t have normal consumer rights, such as refunds should the product not be delivered.
I noticed that in 2014 that KS changed their smallprint to make it easier for backers to get money back? Not sure how much easier it will make it though
I wonder what’s happened to the Clear predators? Back on the 10th of April Kickstarter backers received an e-mail update from Prodos saying that they were on the way from China and expected to arrive end of May, to be shipped to backers right after that. It’s now end of July and still the typical Prodos silence.
Once we know they do have them I’m going to try this KS exchange program they introduced (since I doubt we’ll ever see the alt-pose marines) – so I can actually get something out of them!
