Fall Of The Necromancer Book Coming For Middle-Earth Fans
October 19, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop has another set of pre-orders coming up this weekend, this time for those who are fans of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. Fall Of The Necromancer is the brand new supplement that you'll be able to snap up charting the rise of the Necromancer at Dol Guldur.

Included within this book you'll find thirteen narrative scenarios, new Legendary Legions and more. The main focus of this book is to not only tell the tale of the end of Sauron's dominion over Dol Guldur but also how he came to claim it and the many attempts to root him out by the forces of good.
This means that you'll follow the early Exploration Of Dol Guldur where Gandalf wander the ruins seeking to find evidence of the Necromancer who had taken up residence. You'll also be able to play out the Attack On Rhosgobel where Radagast has to contend with the spiders that dwell in the woods!
More details on what you'll get inside the book can be found as part of this article HERE. Whilst it's not the narrative I would have guessed they'd pursue, it is an intriguing one for followers of Sauron and those who fight alongside The White Council.
Alongside the new book, you'll also be able to pick up this modular plastic set, the Ruins Of Dol Guldur.
Ruins Of Dol Guldur // Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game
This can be built in multiple ways allowing you to echo the twisting and confounding hallways of Dol Guldur. With a couple of kits, you could make quite the sprawling complex of passageways. It looks great and would allow you to make places of evil from across Middle-earth too.
The Lord Of The Nazgûl
Quite fittingly, Sauron's chief lieutenant is also available for you to pre-order this weekend. The Witch-King Of Angmar can be purchased as a plastic kit offering up options for making both a mounted and on-foot version of this dark general.

This means that you can drop the Witch-King into your regular games but also within some narrative scenarios too. The on-foot version of him with a flail in hand is perfect for those looking to play out the clash between him and Éowyn for example.
Are you going to be snapping up this book, the terrain or perhaps the Witch-King?

Ah yes, Fall of Necromancer. Thing that was only mentioned in book but was filler content in movies that took run time.
Ooh yeah fantastic new terrain and figures for middle earth
Players.
I am not a lord of the rings player but I do like the the look of Ruins Of Dol Guldur. That is not going to look out of place in frostgrave or like gerry you like to use minitures in D&D games perfect. The Witch-king of Angamar is really nice a bit unique to Lord of the Rings to use in other games so many just a collectors item to paint. I am going to wait until I see some reviews for Ruins Of Dol Guldur but one to keep an eye on.
The Dol Guldur bit for me was the best bit of the Hobbit films. Always liked it in the Appendices too. Rather mysterious as JRRT never gave away much in the way of detail, so nice for Jackson to create the visualisation.
