Face The Fearsome Death Knights In A New RuneWars Expansion
May 22, 2017 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games has been showing off more of what lies ahead for the Waiqar as RuneWars continues to build up a head of steam (or should that be necromantic magic?) this year. Meet the fearsome Death Knights.
Inside the set, you get four knights and two trays to use them. Additionally, this also means you get all of the extras you'd expect by now including upgrade cards, special options and more. We also got a look at their statistics card too.
They are incredibly durable on the tabletop thanks to their inbuilt ability and won't be running from many scenarios either, or suffering the effects of morale due to their Steadfast rule.
Coupled with that they are rather manoeuvrable and give the undead forces of Waiqar an edge they didn't have before. With a Mortal Strike on their ability wheel to they are a constant threat.
What do you make of these Death Knights?

Those look really good.
Not bad looking minis but damn Runewars is expensive. People bitch about GW prices but this is another level of expensive. £25 for 8 basic infantry or 4 basic cavalry models is pretty salty.
They look ok but very limited static poses in the sets so every set contains duplicates. It feels to me like some of GW’s minis from 15 years ago but with GW’s current pricing. They’ve even caught on to the £25 hero pricing.
I think that’s a bit unfair on GW’s minis from 15 years ago. I don’t think the RW minis are at that standard.
In terms of the GBP price, it’s actually the same as the USD price. The poor value of the pound at the moment means imports cost more. Conversely, if you’re a UK games company who exports then you’re quids in, as GW have shown.
Turns out I was thinking of Battlemasters. Turns out that was made in 1992 which was definitely more than 15 years ago.
Like every other FFG game you are buying pieces of card, the models co e free.
