Enter The DUST Battlefield In Style With Koshka’s Smersh KV-47

Some new walkers for DUST Tactics and Battlefield won't be entering the battlefield by land or by sea. These walkers are going to be hitting the ground from the air in some rather awesome weird world war looking drop pods! See what you think of Koshka's Smersh KV-47!
This is the make up of said infiltration from the sky and yes those are walkers dropping in from the skies not people. If you want to check out the rules for them then you can download the PDF via the link above. But 'how they get down?' I hear you say. Like this...
So as you can see it's very cool indeed and well worth checking out I'd say as an alternative tactic when assaulting the enemy. I do like the walkers for DUST and having a different way of dropping them into the fight is very neat.
A KV-47A, KV-47B, or KV-47C walker in or supporting Koshka’s Smersh KV-47 Platoon is never placed on table at the start of the game. Instead, on the first turn, or if it is in Reserve, when it would normally arrive, it is placed anywhere on the table. The walker’s first Action must be a Nothing Action. The player then rolls a die. On a (Symbol) or (Target), the player may choose its second Action. On a (Sheild), the walker must perform a second Nothing Action. The walker may not capture Objectives on the turn it is placed.
Will you be adding these to your force?

Nice! When I finally settled on my pledge for the KS I opted for a selection of SSU units that would fit with my ‘air mobility’ theme. The only problem of course is that the walker transport helicopter is both expensive in terms of points and (by my understanding) it can only ferry in certain walkers.
It looks like I now have a way to drop in my other walkers.. and a reason to buy the Koshka battle group 😀
Death from Above
What a terrible design for a drop canister. I suppose the reason it must do nothing for at least a turn is that it’s trying to claw it’s way out of the wreckage of its landing. A simple pallet, like those used for vehicles today, would have been more appropriate. It doesn’t need an aero shell if it’s not being dropped from orbit, and on something that heavy the aero brake would have given it minimal drag. Sorry, but I like my sci-fi semi-believable.
I guess it’s because the design allows the pod to punch through the roof of.. say.. a bunker, and deploy the walker inside.
And ’40s soviet power armor fits somewhere in that description, but bomb-shaped droppods dont? To each their own.
It’s a perfect design for the aesthetic. More steampunk than sci-fi. Sorry u have no sense for it. Maybe go play another game.
Yup, in the comic they are being dropped through a castle to get inside, not just as drop pods.
Ah, that makes some sense… being true to a story line. And contrary to bvarian73, who got his panties in a bunch over my comment, I do have a sense for this sort of thing. I like the aesthetic of WWII stuff combined with alien tech; technically not steampunk but I suppose it could be viewed that way. I also like the idea that you can just buy a few of the models, and mix it in with your existing Bolt Action stuff.
As for “Go play another game”, I probably will. You can tuck in that lower lip now 🙂
Love this!
