New English Civil War Oxford Units From Empress Miniatures
July 14, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Empress Miniatures has released some new packs to add to your Oxford Army and some other generic units to build up your rank and file.
There are some different pike and musket line troops. The details on each of the miniatures is very sharp, the attention that they have given is impressive, take a look at the powder flasks on the musketeers, just wonderful. I would be interested to hear from some members that play this time period and what they think of these.
Do you find these amazing?

They look great.
There are some models out there that look very generic and could be used for either Parliament or the Royalist armies.
This isn’t an issue, because the troops did struggle to differentiate between each other on the battlefield in real life and uniforms were not a priority that either army could afford to throw much money at.
It is nice to see miniatures modelled with a style leaning towards just one force and will provide the variety that Civil War game players love to see.
If they’re Oxford units shouldn’t they all be dying of plague? 😛
The figures are utterly brilliant!
I’ve got a regiment painted as The Earl of Essex’ Regiment of Foote.
But I’m seriously tempted to start a Royalist force now.
Those look ace!
Only downside is they are metal..I’d prefer plastics 😉
