Enforce Discipline With New Horus Heresy Traitor Overseer
January 3, 2025 by brennon
Both the Loyalist and Traitor Legions of The Horus Heresy made use of human allies and they would often need to be kept in line or at least "encouraged" to keep on fighting. Well, that's where the new Overseer miniature comes in and in this case, the Traitor Legion Overseer that got previewed this week by Games Workshop.
Traitor Overseer Consul // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
Being a Traitor, this Overseer employs some rather brutal methods of encouragement for the human soldiers that fall under his command. That lash isn't just for late nights on a Sunday with his Battle Brothers. The fear that bleeds out of them could well be enough to keep human soldiers fighting but if that fails, bring out the power whip. Equally, the demonic-style mask might change a few opinions.

The rules for using an Overseer Consul can be found in The Battle For Beta-Garmon book as part of the Campaigns Of The Age Of Darkness series. A nifty miniature and a good reason to perhaps pick up some Solar Auxilia and make use of them in the name of the Warmaster.
I quite like the idea of mixed armies for The Horus Heresy as it feels more realistic for want of a better word. Especially when you come to the later period of The Horus Heresy when a lot of Space Marines had killed each other. It's something that I would like to see more of in Warhammer 40,000 as well where maybe only a handful of Space Marines might end up being deployed alongside a larger army of Astra Militarum troops.
What do you think of the new Traitor Overseer Consul?

What is this? No fiddly bits that snap off easy? No foot on rock? Is this a cry for help from G’Wullu sculptors? XD Honestly not too bad looking if you go for the helmet less head option
Heresy-era seems full of good sculpts at the moment
Agreed – the only thing I don’t like is the brass head. But lots of helmets in lots of kits will fix that.
