Embrace Old Hammer With The Pantheon Of Chaos Kickstarter
April 6, 2016 by brennon
The Pantheon Of Chaos is a very successful Kickstarter campaign currently with around a month left to go which is looking to bring you an array of Old Hammer Chaos Warriors for use on the tabletop. See what you think of their miniatures...
The horde of champions that you see above form the basis of this campaign set up by a group of artists. They are trying to bring back the classic looking miniatures of the 80's and 90's that most of us grew up with. I think they're doing an exceptionally good job so far.
A lot of these creatures and characters are drawn from the old rulebooks and sourcebooks that existed at the time.
You might be reminded of some of the designs from the edges of your Mordheim rulebook or from the depths of Realms Of Chaos.
Will We See Rules Too?
The focus here is to create very singular and original looking miniatures that would work in the sense of a skirmish game. It just so happens that the team are working on a game for you to use these miniatures with although you could easily drop these into all manner of games that exist on the market now.
It feels like we could have a nice original take on the Path To Glory rules with these fellows. That's not to say the official Games Workshop rules aren't worth picking up but I could see these models making for a neat progressive campaign where you play with the idea of mutations and more.
Check out their Kickstarter for more monsters and crazy creations.
Are you drawn to the Old Hammer style?

I recognise some of the sculpts inspired by the old art – creepy Heavy Metal album nightmares!
the old rulebook had pages and pages of mutations and magic weapons 🙂
is this the Space Raider sculptor who did the ‘space lizard-centaur’ – I had no money to back that kickstarter and was hoping there would be an online shop
Indeed it is mate, our very own Diego Serrate.
Oh the glorious mutation tables are an invaluable reference for those of the oldhammer persuasion 🙂
love the demon lord,
I still have most of those old sculpts in storage, think i will take a look at the kickstarter, although not sure how popular it will be, some of the old sculpts are somewhat static and poor.
The Kickstarter is doing amazingly well…..Im in!
I’m so glad you guys like the project so much 🙂
Rules? I’m pretty sure I heard a murmuring amongst the dark masters about such things…..
you could have almost anything in those old Chaos war-bands – ogres, minotaurs, trolls
…and tech them up for 40k
Film Four (UK) had a show on last night about 2000 AD

reminded me of the old fantasy stuff 🙂
40k looking chaos stuff? I’d be telling big fat lies if I said we hadn’t considered that already 😉
They really got that cheezy 80’s look just right 🙂
Cheers manpug 🙂
We are all fans of that era, so it has had a massive influence on our work.
