Echoes Of Doom focuses on the forces of the Skaven and the Sylvaneth, battling for control of the wild places of the world. Grey Seer Skrittat is set to lead the forces of the Skaven into one of the protected glades of the Sylavneth. Roused to war, the Lady Of Vines is seeking to send these interlopers packing!
The first of the armies is for the Skaven.
Echoes Of Doom - Skaven // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This set breaks down into a pack of Clanrats, the elite Stormvermin, Grey Seer Skrittat himself on the back of a Screaming Bell and finally, the new Deathmaster miniature. That powerful Screaming Bell is probably going to be quite useful when dealing with those monstrous Sylvaneth miniatures!
Talking of the Sylvaneth, here are the models you get for their half of the boxed set.
Echoes Of Doom - Sylvaneth // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This set comes with those awesome Kurnoth Hunter miniatures, a towering Treeman, The Lady Of Vines and those cool Gossamid Archers. This looks like it is set up to be a pretty good ambush/strike team in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. I imagine the Skaven are probably going to end up fleeing for their lives once they get surrounded by these angry ambushers!
The set also comes with rules for fighting within the Realm Of Fire, an expanded narrative following the events of this boxed set and a set of battle plans for using these two forces. So, an interesting starter option for a pair of wargamers who like these forces. Or, something new for avid collectors.
New Warcry Releases
As well as the new boxed game, we also have some re-releases for Warcry. Previously available as part of a Warcry starter set, two warbands are now available individually.
Darkoath Savagers // Warcry
Shop Warcry @ Store.OnTableTop
Both the Darkoath Savagers and the Tarantulos Brood will now be available as separate packs complete with cards to go alongside the miniatures. So, if you missed out on diving into Warcry with them then you're going to get another bite at the cherry.
Tarantulos Brood // Warcry
Warcry has been a really good breeding ground for fun new miniatures for the world of the Mortal Realms. If you're into your quirky and interesting Chaos Warbands then this is certainly the game to get stuck into. It almost seems a shame that the folks at Games Workshop are working to include more and more warbands from across the different factions. I quite liked that it was so Chaos-centric.
New Warcry Terrain
The neat terrain from the previous Warcry set is also going to be available, broken down into two different sets.
Pit Dredger Camp // Warcry
Varanite Syphon Camp // Warcry
We know how important Varanite has become in the world of the Mortal Realms with the ascendancy of Morathi! So, it makes sense that there would be more battles set over the places in the Mortal Realms where it forms in abundance.
If you're interested in diving into the Mortal Realms with a skirmish game or a mass battle wargame then you now have some options. Could you be tempted to dive in and pick up some of these new sets over the coming weekend?

The new Sylavneth are nice and good to finally see some extra options. Although I did play AoS with the very first release none of the armies ever interested me enough to really get into it. Sylavneth was the only faction that I could do something with, but the play style was a bit limited. Always wanted to use the models for something.
The new figures look exceptional but player’s will spend more time fixing the bits broke off playing a game
GW models are getting weirder and weirder with every new release.
AoS is technically not a bad rule set for an introductory skirmish game, but I’ll never understand why they couldn’t have just re-released Warhammer Skirmish or Mordheim or Warhammer Warbands and left the Old World intact.
New sculpts look really good.
