East Street Games Fight For Their Place In Valhalla
May 2, 2014 by brennon
East Street Games were running a pretty neat looking Dark Age skirmish game called Valhalla at Salute 2014 and the rules for the game are now up on their website to buy in booklet form alongside a website which handles the digital aspect of the game...
The game sees you crafting a warband using their website and then either printing off and using their cards or grabbing an app for your phone to record damage to your heroes. The game almost has a Warmachine feel to it in that areas of the body have damage boxes so you can hack things apart and get some lasting injuries on the go.
You can also sign up to their website and get access to digital rules, videos explaining some of the game concepts and even scenarios and campaigns for you to try.
Have you given this a go?

Basically I need to upload pics of my individual warriors plus their wargear and away I go the site will work out each models stats. Then after each battle you upload their results and assuming they don’t… Read more »
I too have downloaded this game after playing it at Salute and I have to say it is a rather neat set of rules and pleasant to play. As I play Saga I am lucky that I have some figures for the game and will be getting a another play soon.
I too would recommend looking at this game as I think the system is easy to adapt for other periods too
If you’ve not downloaded the Valhalla ruleset, I would strongly advise doing so. I met Paul from East Street over the weekend at the Derby show and was very impressed by this Dark Age skirmish wargame. The rules are easy to pick up but certainly not simplistic. There is plenty of scope and depth to satisfy the most hardend of players with flexibility to add your own house rules. What makes Valhalla special is the ability to create war bands online. The system generates credible stats for the figures dependent on standing, armour, weapons etc. By uploading photos and credentials… Read more »
