A Dwarven Smith & Fantastical Boar Released By Lucid Eye
March 19, 2019 by brennon
Lucid Eye has added two new miniatures to their webstore, one for The Red Book Of The Elf King and the other for Toon Realms. We start with Harmuk The Dwarf Smith.
This fellow has his place in the history of the Fae although not always for the right reasons. The Elven Lords don't take fondly to him but they are aware of his skill working metal at the anvil.
Perhaps this marks the start of us seeing a few more Dwarf characters dropped into the mix for the game? In Norse mythology, the Dwarves were a type of Elf after all.
Gruff & Hairy
As well as this addition to the range of characters for The Red Book Of The Elf King we also have Grunt The Boar, a new foe for your adventurers to run into when playing out Fantasy adventures on the tabletop.
He is a staunch defender of his area of the forest. Whilst some might seek to befuddle and charm him, he appears resistant to it and will go out of his way to remove anyone who stays on his patch, forcefully!
Whilst I think you could approach the painting of Grunt like a typical boar I think it would be good to up the fantastical ante and perhaps give him more of a vivid colour scheme. You could introduce a range of dark and bright greens to give him the appearance of a wild guardian.
What do you think of these new releases?

Nice figure’s the boar isn’t as detailed as other models for this game.
I would disagree. I think the creatures for the Toon Realms range are detailed for the style they’ve developed, namely, one which is a bit more ‘comic’. It favours block colours which should make them very punchy.
it is a great model.
Those are nice.
I wonder if we get a Meercat to accompany him?
