DUST’s Weird World War Setting Heading To The Big Screen?
March 5, 2015 by brennon
The world of DUST, plagued as it is right now by arguments between companies, might be heading to the silver screen for an adaptation of the Weird World War game. Both the rights to the graphic novel and tabletop game have been picked up...
It will be interesting to see what they do with the property. Another tabletop game that made its way to the big screen was Mutant Chronicles and that really wasn't very good so we have to hope that DUST has that spark and World War II background to make for a cool experience on screen.
Future As A Telltale Game?
The company behind the film, Lionsgate, have recently also been giving out their properties to the people behind the story based games Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones and Tales of the Borderlands, Telltale Games.
With that in mind could we be seeing a game from them where you play characters embroiled in the wars of DUST? They've proven that they can make games with lots of fighting in them (Game of Thrones and Tales of the Borderlands) so it's not such a far fetched idea!
What do you think of the news?

I think I am more intrigued that Flashman is being made into a film
Isn’t Malcolm McDowell a bit old to reprise his 1975 role? 😉
Once a Flashman, always a Flashman
That’s what I told the judge, but she still convicted me for indecent exposure 🙁
There is chance that this won’t be made so I will wait when this is sure.
Quite so.
It is only the rights that have been sold.
Just means that someone now has the rights to make a film. Rights to movies get sold all the time
No guarantee that a film will be made
Yep; the film rights to Hover Car Racer by Matthew Reilly have been owned by Disney since 2004 and still nothing. Latest news I found on Wikipedia as I was typing this was that Dan Harris was working on a script back in 2012.
Just because you legally can make a film of something, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna be made.
research is useful 😉
