Durgin Paint Forge Showcase New Elf Miniature, “The Wise”
December 3, 2020 by brennon
Durgin Paint Forge might have finished up their Fantasy Kickstarter for The Elves Of Inneath in 32mm but that hasn't stopped them tinkering around with new ideas for future additions to the range. As an example, here we have "The Wise".
The Wise // Durgin Paint Forge
The idea behind this character was that it would be an Elf but one who has fully embraced their path in life. Being inquisitive and spending the time to investigate the complexities of the world, The Wise, also known as Whakaaro'Nui has become more in tune with nature and now very little of the Elf in left in a traditional sense.

As always, the amount of work that has gone into this miniature is astonishing and there are little tales being told all over the place when it comes to this particular character. I love the way that their very skin has become like bark and roots are crawling out of its body to try and find their way into the ground.
Additionally, you've also got that inquisitive nature baked into the sculpt as Whakaaro'Nui tries to make sense of the strange toy that it has found whilst wandering free of the woods. If you're interested in the process behind bringing this miniature to life, you can check out the breakdown over on Kickstarter HERE.
