Dungeons & Dragons ‘Honor Among Thieves’ Film Details Confirmed
April 25, 2022 by fcostin
We have seen many a game-translation head to our big screens. With the excitement surrounding the likes of Arcane, The Witcher and the HALO series (and odd announcement of Exploding Kittens Netflix series), we knew it was not going to be long before a D&D movie would grace our screens.
The Dungeons & Dragons movie has now got it's confirmation, title, logo and cast line-up which was announced during the Wizards of the Coast D&D Direct event.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves // Wizards of the Coast
Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves has finally been announced and confirmed, with an all-star cast stepping up to the plate for some Hollywood-style Dungeon Crawling. The cast confirmed so far has been: Chris Pine, Hugh Grant, Sophia Lillis, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, and Regé-Jean Page.
The title is set to be released next year, on March 3rd 2023 and confirmed going to theatres. So it will not be an immediate release via Netflix or any other streaming platform. However we can guarantee a spinoff live-action tv show set within the same universe to appear shortly afterwards.
It's certainly an interesting cast line-up. Chris Pine is no stranger to CGI being our modernised Kirk. However bringing in the likes of Fast & Furious' Michelle Rodriguez, and Bridgerton's alum Regé-Jean Page brings some interesting A-listers to come to our fantastical big screens.
What do you think? Are you excited for the upcoming D&D movie?

Ooh hopefully this will be better than the Warcraft film.
I will hold my enthusiasm for the moment. There have been other films from the IP which don’t get anywhere near the enjoyment one might find in Knights of Badassdom (with Peter Dinklage). They do not get spoken of as they are near the likes of Uwe “Toilet” Boll productions. I still lament the disgrace heaped upon the pc game Alone In the Dark.
First D&D movie had Jeremy Irons… hollywood name in a new movie doesn’t mean it won’t suck.
The other two D&D movies were far worse.
I liked that one not seen the others.
I suggest you make an effort to not see the other two… they were embarassingly poor for the scifi channel… bad enough to turn up on freeview horror channel.
Ooh good to know thanks.
Next year going to the cinema to watch a “D&D” film… “nerds alive! !… In honour maybe we should all wear “Blue lipstick”..giggles…
If it is only half as bad as the Jeremy Irons one, then I will be happy enough! Also, please Hollywood – no blue lips.
It will be a train wreck just like the Halo series as Hollywood can’t stop themselves from putting their politics and social world order on film.
This is a film that has no point in being made outside of a money grab.
I feel like you could win a false advertising case against The Witcher or Halo shows for putting a “based on the books/games” disclaimer on there.
Considering the direction WotC has taken in recent years, I can only guess that this will be an excruciatingly Zeitgeist-y and soulless manufactured product. I hope very much to be wrong!
WoTC are catering to the new customers. They don’t care about the origins of D&D. They have not even had the good sense to contact Jeff Grubb to let him know they intend to (ruin probably) his Spelljammer setting.
If you want naff D&D products then WoTC are your go-to guys.
I agree 100%. 3rd Edition was the last time I paid any attention to their products.
The cowardly disclaimer they’ve slapped on all of their (and TSR’s!) old legacy books makes their position very clear: they have nothing but scorn and shame for the giants on whose shoulders they are now standing.
