Learn About Dungeon Delving In Magic’s Forgotten Realms

Magic: The Gathering fans are going to be able to delve into the Dungeons & Dragons world of the Forgotten Realms in July. New decks and cards for Adventures In The Forgotten Realms are on the way and with it, ways to do a bit of dungeon delving.
Venture Into The Dungeon | First Look: Adventures In The Forgotten Realms
Dungeons are new cards that are not included in your deck but are integral to the way in which Adventures In The Forgotten Realms cards play. During games, some cards will ask you to either descend into a dungeon or venture deeper into them.
Dungeons // Magic: The Gathering
Dungeon cards will offer you in-game effects and as you play you'll explore them and unlock even more benefits. There are even some cards that benefit from completing dungeons!
Creatures // Magic: The Gathering
Once a dungeon is completed it sits back as part of your sideboard and can be introduced back into play next time you are asked to enter a dungeon. You are even allowed to return to the same dungeon again and again if you like. Importantly, once you're in a dungeon your adventuring group will have to complete that before you can go into a new one!
I really like the sound of this and there are going to be more card reveals for Adventures In The Forgotten Realms over the next few weeks. The core features of the game are the same in that you're looking to drop your opponent's life to zero but I like that you've got these other options giving you different routes to victory.
Are you going to be giving this a go when it releases?

This feels like one of those times that WOTC manages to pull off a mechanic that ultimately I’m not sure anyone was ever asking for. Obviously having a new card type of dungeons in a D&D set makes sense, but I just can’t see people rushing to want to include them in decks. It’s also an odd choice given this year’s D&D set is considered the “Core Set” but they shove this brand new dungeon mechanic in there, which stands a good chance of confusing the same noobs that Core Sets are supposed to cater to.
The dungeon mechanic is hardly confusing when compared to all the other standard core mechanics in magic the gathering.
This looks great an no figures to paint up to game a big plus in my book’s.
