The Duchess Gaming Table Breaks $1 Million Dollar Mark On Kickstarter!
June 24, 2016 by stvitusdancern
I reported on this Kickstarter campaign when it first launched a couple of weeks back. A nice real wood recessed gaming table that can double as your dining room table for a very reasonable price.
The Duchess from Board Game Table.com appeared to be that one table that just about anyone could own and be proud to have the table in their home. With the two sided game mat and built in cup holders as an option what was not to like about this table.
The size 5'x3' caught a few people off guard, but with a lot of skirmish games being played on a 3'x3' area this did not seem to be a problem. Honestly, when I wrote the first article I figured the campaign would do well, but I had no idea that I would be reporting that it would break the one million dollar mark!
It just goes to show you that when you offer a good quality product at a reasonable price people will come. I cannot wait to see this table in person. My understanding is that Board Game Tables.com will be at Gen Con, so we might catch up with them and take a look at the demo table for ourselves.
If you have not checked out this campaign yet you still have time as there is still 19 days left at the time of this article.
What do you think of this table?

If it was 6×4 I would have got in on this
I did say the same thing. .. 6×4 and deep enough to cover terrain
The table is designed to be for board games and role playing where the size is perfect. Big enough for the games without being too large that you have to stretch over the table to reach for cards/components etc
I have an 8×4 table in my games room and 4ft is often too wide when we are board gaming. It is just a miniature gamers requirements are different.
