The Drowned Earth Gets Distribution Deal Through Warcradle

The Drowned Earth looks set to find its way onto more and more tabletops over the next year or so as they signed up to a distribution deal with Warcradle Studios.
If you're baffled by what this means then I'll let them explain it below...
"Ok, a quick lesson on gaming industry supply chains! I am the manufacturer of The Drowned Earth miniatures game. You can, of course, buy the game on this website. But to really get in to the big-leagues and become a "household name" (within our small corner of the market place, anyway) we really need TDE in local stores, where people can see it, become intrigued, and buy in!
Stores can buy directly from me, but there's a problem. In order for it to be economically viable for a manufacturer to sell at a big discount (so that stores can actually make some hard earned money too!) they need to buy in bulk. Most stores are going to struggle to sell enough to put in big orders every month, especially to begin with.
This is where the Distributor comes in. A distributor buys from me, in big numbers, meaning that I can send out a few huge shipments each month, instead of lots of little ones. They carry not just TDE, but loads of games, meaning that the store can now order in big numbers, because they're not just buying TDE, but loads of other games as well."
So, this should mean that there will be plenty of ways in the future for you to get hold of miniatures and such for The Drowned Earth through your local store. This is superb news for The Drowned Earth which is a really fun skirmisher and one that we've had plenty of good times with when we've got it to the tabletop.
Plus, the game has Dinosaurs in it and everyone loves Dinosaurs right?

The thing is distributes is the ebb and flow of game’s so they need a large warehouse to cope with this and the overheads are close to profits and they have to be careful or they will fail to make any money.
if you are not showing it at a FLGS, chances are you have limited presence in the area. My FLGS sells the games that they run leagues for…basically you become a defacto club. I support with game and supply purchases and food and drink when I play there. best thing is they get to know what you like so you don’t have to worry about missing on the latest item, they normally let me know in advance and if o don’t like it, I don’t have to buy (but I normally do)
That’s exactly how a good relationship with an FLGS should work. I’ve got a similar setup and never miss anything I want, and the FLGS gets to violate my wallet. It’s win-win!
This is good news. TDE is a really nifty little game and deserves wider attention.
Just not a fan of Warcradle at all.
Not sure how the are as a distributor for other peoples games, but for their own IPs they pretty much suck.
