Dominion, New Age Of Sigmar Boxed Set Unboxed This Weekend
May 25, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop is continuing with the previews this weekend as they look ahead to a new edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. Dominion, the new Boxed Set, is going to be under the camera as their presenters go through the contents and let us know what this strange new Fantasy foe is we're going to be facing.

As mentioned in their blog post about this, Dominion seems to be less of a Starter Set and more of a big celebration of The Mortal Realms. This brings it more in line with Indomitus rather than the subsequent Starter Sets that we saw pop up for Warhammer 40,000.
On the one side of this conflict, we're going to be seeing the return of the Stormcast Eternals with all of their new armour and weapons. On the other, well, it has yet to be revealed. What we do know is that it's something beastly although recent previews are leading me to believe that it's actually just a new style of Orruk. The recent Animation teaser did also hint at the fact that we might be getting a slightly more swampy-savage Orruk.

Whilst I might be having a flirtation with the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000 right now, I am always drawn more to the fantastical. Over the last year or so I've also been getting along better with the lore and the world that Games Workshop is building. I am still a massive fan of The Old World, I grew up on it, but I can see what the team behind The Mortal Realms is looking to achieve.
I shall be watching this, no doubt in a little bit of a vaccinated state (yay for science), over the weekend and will let you know my thoughts. Maybe we'll even get a little bit of a hint as to what else is coming up for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar beyond this box?
Are you going to be tuning in?

From the video I was thinking it would be a Fimir / Swamp Goblin faction but the current images it does feel slight more Orruk. It maybe we get a more savage ork without all the armour going back to more the classic fantasy but AOS tends to take a different swipe at the classic armies so who knows what we will get.
Personally I would really love to see the Fimir return so fingers crossed.
Still hoping for Fimir too but I feel that dream is dwindling away
For fimirs, they look suspiciously goblinoid 😉
A squad of terminators with chain guns? Lol.
Stormcast Terminatus with Executor Storm Lances? Maybe…
Sounds good ?? Ben.
Big question is what is race/faction that they will include with sigmarines. I hope we get answer very soon.
swamp orcs, they are visible for 3 seconds in the animation teaser from saturday. Imagine orcs, but on a 1000kcal diet.
I think they over simplified with the four grand orders: Chaos, Order, Death & Destruction.
Broken realms has split order with Daughters of Khaine and Idoneth seemingly allies, but apart from the Stormcast and Free Cities.
And @brennon I’m due my second jab on friday, but not expecting side effects as I had none with the first Astra Zeneca…
Astra Zeneca sounds a bit like a human 40k army…. Pfizer and Moderna sound more like Xenos. Pfizer could also be a brand of pop.
I sincerely hope this is a starter set type thing rather than the Indomitus ‘one off’ release lark.
I appreciate they’re often loss-leaders but if for whatever reason you can’t or don’t want to invest on release, it’ll be there months later.
They’ve called it a “launch box” so don’t hold your hopes up that it’s anything other than a limited release.
