Divine Rage Mount Up On Chaotic Beasts For Battle
December 20, 2014 by brennon
A mighty Chaos Lord Mounted on Beast and a Warrior Priest to face him have been put up on the webstore for Divine Rage and Mommiminiatures...
I'm liking pretty much about this magnificent beast of burden and I think he would be an awesome proxy for anything you might want to field that's monstrous in the Warriors of Chaos army list for Warhammer Fantasy. The only thing I don't like is where the Lords body meets the saddle. It looks like he's been artificially stretched to make the model work. He also looks like he's probably broken his hips to sit down.
Away from the mighty Chaos Lord on his steed we also have this Warrior Priest or Cleric ready for battle. He'll no doubt be calling on the faith of whatever God he chooses to worship (Sigmar?) to smite his enemies on the battlefield. I am always interested to see more priest characters on the tabletop and one day I will make my Flagellant army for The Empire.
Which of the two do you prefer?
The riders have the problem of having to straddle a wide back
The solution is always to place a saddle atop the back which is never convincing
Why would you not have a tower like war elephants?
Also…
Foot on rock! lol
Echoed by the Cleric.
Some good work coming out from Divine Rage though
Or he could have had a saddle closer to the neck, but it’s all good. I need a bad dude in charge of an evil army of 500 figures, and this guy fits the bill perfectly.
Ordered them both, actually! The priest is a perfect foot version of the Gamezone Imperial mounted priest, or feudal. I forget which.
Cool!
Riding on the neck like a mahout would make sense, but either way will be an impressive centrepiece for your army.
If I wasn’t so stubborn and determined to sculpt my own Cleric v2.0 (whenever I get around to it ie never! lol) this dude would be on the top of the list
Even if he is over large for the Red Box figures, he would still work as a big fellow in the company.
I find the human Red Box figures to be compatible with the heroic stuff, and I still have a few. I guess the reason the figure is mounted on top is so that he has more of a dominant position wrt to the rest of the army, and his adversaries. And yeah, foot-on-rock, but the figures are good enough I didn’t notice till you mentioned it. The price is right, and I may get a few more of these to make an entire command group and guard down the road. Now THAT would be impressive. I went through the rest… Read more »
I know, but when I saw the Beast’s foot on a rock I couldn’t resist! lol
Yeah, have been following Divine Rage of Facebook.
Overall the figures are nicely done.
Quite like their Orcs and the WIP Renaissance dudes who’s name escapes me.
See what you mean about the prices
4 Euros for single figures and 20 for 12 figures and same for the beastie is not bad at all
BTW, look forward to seeing your cleric v2.0!
Me too
the way things are going it will be a loooooong way off 🙁
@chibi , these showed up today. I was surprised at the size of the big fellow. He’s a monster! And the detail on both was fantastic. I was also pleased that they are solid resin; that critter has quite the heft to it. At the price, I will definitely be ordering up enough to make up a command group and guard (another six down the road). Makes you wonder… if an upstart company like this can make a huge, fabulous, detailed miniature with a limited run, and sell it for only 25 euros, why can’t GW? Their production runs are… Read more »
Nice one.
GW do have greater overheads of course
There is a small matter of Kirby’s pay off and pension.
Then the rest of the board, champagne for the shareholders….
It’s okay I’m only joking no offence meant.
The shareholders divi and champagne would be ridiculous at the moment! lol
sorry sorry only teasing
Those look great. Expesially that beast.
I like the rhino thingy.
That must be one painfull ride, i guess he be missing alot when he does come into combat.
I also imagin him yelling orders with a highpitched voice.
That beast is climbing that rock so it ok to have foot on rock syndrome in this case.
