Deus Vult Teutonic Order Download Available Soon
May 28, 2014 by brennon
The Teutonic Order is recruiting and soon the Northern European soldiers will be heading off to convert pagans and heretics to a true cause by the sword for Deus Vult. A new download pack will be available soon from FireForge Games...
This new army list will be available to download from their website on June 3rd and provide you with a strong military force with well trained soldiers even if their leaders needed a bit of a lesson in strategy.
Have you been playing Deus Vult? I am quite interested in getting into the game but Crescent & Cross is also on the way from Gripping Beast and Studio Tomahawk. Should I just bite the Crusader bullet and buy both systems?
God Wills It!

I have Deus Vult and I’m eagerly awaiting C&C. My plan is to buy an army for the latter first then build it up for use in Deus Vult later.
Des Vult is a figure removal system I think,..If so I am not interested in it at all
Knowing who the designer is puts me off big time as well
Both Deus Vult and Saga and single casualty removal systems.
I’ve not tried Deus Vult, like you Ben I’m waiting for C&C as well. I’m dieing to see the factions and rules because I want to get on with building a warband. If I was to get into DV it would be Mongols for me.
@torros what don’t you like about figure removal systems ? I’d be interested to know. For myself either way is not an issue.
Its nothing much Huscarle I just find it fiddly and annoying these days much prefer just moving a base about and keeping track of any reduction of the unit some other way, I also hate basing so would rather get it over and done with in one big go rather than having to do loads of individual bases. I think after a while units start to look silly on the table after a loads of figures have been removed from a unit
With Deus Vult you can either use figure removal (the ‘default setting’ for the rules) or record damage on stands using dice or damage markers (discussed in the ‘optional rules’ section). In fact I find figure removal fiddly too, and have based multiple figures on single stands for all my Deus Vult Arab and Crusader units. I find gameplay goes a little bit quicker that way (and there’s less tidying up to do after a game too!).
I’m fine with individual casualty removal up to a point. Once it starts getting over 20 men in a unit I’d prefer not to have to. Even for unit based games I still base 28mm minis individually as I like to use them in different systems.
Thanks for the explanation I can see where your coming from now. I quite like to see units get depleted especially when they’re not mine. It gives a good impression of how the battle is going.
