Medbury Miniatures have revealed their new releases for August over on Patreon. There is a good selection of options for both Historical and Fantasy wargamers looking to bolster their 28mm armies by 3D Printing off some new warriors. We start with the Dark Ages and a range of skirmishers to slot in alongside your heavily armoured soldiers.

Dark Age Skirmishers & Archers - Medbury Miniatures

Dark Age Skirmishers & Archers // Medbury Miniatures

This set comes with a nice selection of Dark Age Skirmishers armed with Javelins and Bows. They have been designed to match the Vendel Era which has been the focal point of Medbury's Dark Age range for a while. Their design works well with the existing range but they could also fit into all manner of other armies should you want to use them.

Dark Age Archers - Medbury Miniatures

Much like earlier, I really like the Archers and I particularly enjoy the variety of poses. They all look like they are in the heart of the action, popping out from cover to rain down arrows on unsuspecting enemies before slinking off into the shadows.

The same goes for the Skirmishers With Javelins. I like that they not only have javelins in hand but also a few more stored behind their shields, ready to "reload" and take out another foe or two. Both sets of miniatures allow you to make some nifty lightly armoured troops that could be good for harassing the enemy.

New Fantasy Miniatures

On the Fantasy side of things, Medbury are making a journey to Torgorod once again and filling out this collection of warriors from the mountainous East.

Torgorod City Guard - Medbury Miniatures

Torgorod City Guard // Medbury Miniatures

With the threat of Orcs and more being raised by the Dark Lord, it makes sense that the Torgorod Boyar and his Advisors would raise a fairly hefty City Guard to help defend themselves against encroaching enemy forces. That's what you get with this set; a nice set of miniatures for keeping evil creatures at bay, perhaps when allied alongside some helpful Dwarves?

Torgorod Boyar & Advisor - Medbury Miniatures

Torgorod Boyar & Advisor // Medbury Miniatures

The miniatures have a distinctly Rus/Slavic vibe to them which does make them in keeping with the aesthetic that The Hobbit films went with for the people of Lake-town/Esgaroth and Dale. This means that they would fit in very nicely alongside the ranges out there at the moment and probably be a darn site cheaper than getting a lot of the resin miniatures!

Torgorod City Guard With Bows - Medbury Miniatures

The set features the Boyar, an Advisor, a Banner Bearer sticking with their leader and then two sets of warriors. You get the City Guard armed with a variety of weapons and the Druzhina who are a little more elite.

Torgorod Druzhina With Spears - Medbury Miniatures

Torgorod Druzhina With Spears // Medbury Miniatures

Whilst this is a distinctly Fantasy force, the look and feel of the miniatures being matched to Medieval Slavic warriors means that they might not look entirely out of place in a Historical setting should you want to use them. I think they certainly fit the Tolkien-esque vibe that Medbury has been going for over the last few months though and a welcome addition to the collection!

Could you be tempted to pick up some of these new miniatures this month?
