Will You Defend The Realm With Dredd’s Brit-Cit Judges?
September 9, 2015 by brennon
If you're looking for a law enforcement group that is a little bit different then see what you think of the Brit-Cit Judges for Warlord's Judge Dredd. Considering Queen Elizabeth II will become the longest reining monarch today this feels very patriotic...
"The Brit-Cit Justice Department, officially referred to as Her Majesty’s Justice Department (HMJD), maintains Law and order in and around Brit-Cit. The Judges of Brit-Cit share much in common with their counterparts in Mega-City One, having similar uniforms and close diplomatic ties.
However, Brit-Cit Judges are more lenient in their approach to crime and spend as much time buried in paperwork as they do patrolling the streets of their sector."
The models are all still quite old school in looks but I think this game does have a reasonable 'cult' following as a system. I don't actually mind some of the miniatures, especially the ones without the helmets.
Will you be going with these UK based Judges?

I had that attitude towards the Judge Dredd designs myself before I fell in love with the Dredd universe. Before I looked at those helmets and said “Too weird”. Now I accept them.
The only issue I have is trying to find an accurate (from the pages of 2000AD) color reference for these guys. The Brit-cit judge miniatures in the rulebook have grey-blue boots/gloves/utility belts while Warlord’s have blue.
Also would anyone else want to see a “Dredd” movie version the same way Knight Models has movie versions of Batman?
If you look at 2000AD and associated comics, the colours are more or less completely up for grabs. They vary so much from artist to artist it’s up to you.
I would like that a lot. Warlord, if you are listening….:-)
Those Brit cit judges really are old school! They are not to my taste at all. Very GW circa 1986. This is a good game and I have judges, citidef and street gang factions at the moment. I am looking for a fourth faction. I don’t think these are the guys sadly. Movie Dredd otoh…
Those look really good.
Sorry fellas I wish to buy into your game but as it stands at the moment this model style does not appeal to me at all.
yeah them heads .. reminds me of some of the old warzone brotherhood minis
Mixed feelings here. Yeah I gotta agree that they do look very 1980s Citadel JD. Now that does have some appeal from a nostalgia point of view. But with the stuff Warlord are churning out for Bolt Action, Black Powder, etc, you would kinda expect the minis to be a bit more sexy. Still I do like them…but would like them to be a bit more realistic….but I still like them….but I would like them to be a bit more proportionate to real life…but I still like them….no, but yeah, but no, but yeah….damn you Carl Urban for skewing my… Read more »
Glad my painted minis are shown for the link to click! Heres a bit more in depth, these minis are great up close!

Nice they are the LAW.
I like the Mongoose/Warlord range for Dredd. They’re pretty faithful to the comic and are well made (so much better than the old GW ones that I have).
I’ll admit I too would love to see a 2012 film version of the miniatures, but I don’t see that happening for licensing reasons (the license for the film version being separate from the comic version).
Anyway, it’s a great game and if the current miniatures put you off, use mantic/GW/dreamforge instead. I regularly use the Wargames Foundry:Street Violence miniatures as punks or mobsters because they’re so awesome.
this is a game I would like to get into
i have just bought the rulebook yesterday. really looking forward to playing this with my group. the book looks awesome. the artwork in it alone is great.
