2018 has been a whirlwind of a year, and I have been REALLY good (ok, maybe your definition of "really" is different than mine), so I've put together a list of the top 3 gaming goodies I'm hoping Santa brings this year (or I'll be acquiring with Christmas money).

Accio Harry Potter!

I'll go out on a limb and assume that these choices will not come to surprise to anyone, so we'll kick things off with some Harry Potter Miniatures Adventure Game from Knight Models as my number 1 pick. Christmas came a little early for me as Gianna did some Black Friday shopping and picked up a magical amount of the game for me, but that doesn't mean a girl can't ask for more. I'm literally all in on this one and want to stay up on collecting, so naturally I've been eyeing the new release on preorder now, The Wizarding Wars Bundle. This bundle includes 2 sets, the Barty Crouch Sr. & Aurors set and the Barty Crouch Jr. & Death Eaters set. If Santa REALLY thought I was good, I would absolutely love one of the Voldemort's from the original preorder, as well as a Dumbledore- hint hint hint.

I cannot wait to get stuck into this game. The minis are beautiful and the rules were easy to read through and not overly complicated. Stay tuned for a closer look at this game in the near future.

A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far Far Away...

For my number 2 pick, it has to be some new Star Wars Destiny from Fantasy Flight Games. Being the Star Wars fan that I am (and a neurotic collector), I am beyond pumped about the latest Collection on the way for the game, Convergence. Convergence will feature some of the most epic characters from the galaxy as well as a new mechanic that allows you to make life difficult for your enemies with a variety of Downgrades! Convergence also features 2 new starter sets featuring a young Obi-Wan Kenobi as well as the dubious General Grevious.

I never get tired of the game due to the ability to create different decks around the narrative we all know and love from the galaxy. I am really looking forward to trying out those new mechanics with Intel and Bounty too.

SSU! SSU! SSU!

And last, but certainly not least, My number 3 pick is to continue to grow my DUST 1947 SSU forces- in Premium! Not only are the DUST 1947 minis looking absolutely gorgeous these days, I have fallen in love with the premium range. These minis look absolutely fantastic out of the box and not having to paint them (I know, 70% of the members just cried out when I said that), makes me oh, so, very happy! My wish list at the moment includes: Steel Guards Headquarters, Spetsnaz Headquarters and the PLA/Red Army Sarnai & Grom- just to name a few.

My hope is to get up the courage to play in the DUST 1947 tournament at Polar Vortex this year. Perhaps with the confidence of a premium SSU army (hint hint hint), I can make the leap. In all seriousness, I have always shied away from tournament play due to the level of competition and not wanting to play cutthroat. But after seeing the great bunch of people play last year, I found myself feeling left out and wishing I was in the mix. We'll see. I'll let you know come January.

So on this, I will leave you with my resolutions for the New Year: Play more games, Introduce others to playing games, And be brave enough to play in a DUST 1947 tournament.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
