The Darklands Spreads and Engulfs Kickstarter
March 28, 2014 by dracs
Mierce Miniatures have recently returned to Kickstarter in search of more funding for the First Edition rulebook of their game Darklands, a tabletop skirmish game set in the Dark Ages of Europe where all the mythology and superstition of our ancestors has come to life.
In this world, the forces of men must contend with one another and the beasts that stalk the Dark Lands.
This Kickstarter aims at bringing out a new hardcover First Edition rulebook, building upon the Quick Start Rules already available and providing players with the rich background of the game's setting.
Mierce Miniatures have some of the best resin miniatures on the market and this Kickstarter will help them to fill this old world with monstrous beasts and warriors.
All these new designs have me really excited, and it is easy to see why when you see the quality of the resin miniatures they have already made.
The Kickstarter has already seen a good deal of success, so we can hopefully expect to see Darklands appearing on people's tabletops in the future.

The previous KS funded the rulebook. This one is for new units and extra beasties 🙂
Darklands is my new number 1 choice for my fantasy fix, the setting and factions are awesome, the only hard part is deciding on which faction to collect when the miniatures are all so good!
I must admit, despite my reluctance towards the rule set, I can’t stop looking at these minis. They are everything I want when it comes to fantasy monsters and soldiers.
I’m wondering if anyone has actually tried the rules though. They seem very clunky and it pains me that the rule set these minis suppose doesn’t seem like something I would enjoy. Anyone given it a try?
have had a little trouble getting my head around some but the most recent QuickStart rules have been easier. Plus if you have any questions the guys over on the forums, whether it’s other fans or Mierce themselves, are a great help.
I have played a game and an playing another soon. And found my last game immensely fun, I love the while aspect that stuff gets weaker as it get hurts
These are definitely the best looking minis on the market right now with plenty of variety in the styles of each kindred (faction). Have not played a game using the quick start rules but plenty of the backers have and claim it is a good game with decent tactical depth. Not forgetting that a lot of these minis can be used in RPG’s or as better looking proxy models in other systems. Worth noting that although the price per mini looks high, most of these are actually quite large pieces, with only the human models being 30mm tall. Anyone interested… Read more »
