Dark Sword Tease Us With A Female Rogue For 2015!
January 1, 2015 by brennon
Dark Sword have plenty more miniatures planned for 2015 and they're kicking things off with a teaser. See what you think of this rather awesome Female Rogue sculpted by Bobby Jackson and painted up by Marike Reimer and Jessica Rich showing off what you can do!
A very well sculpted miniature I think you'll agree and the paint job from both Marike and Jessica is top notch. I think of the two I would have to go with Jessica's simply because I think it works well in the context of a traditional looking Rogue, swathed in shadowy clothes. Marike's is a good alternative though and more in keeping with the look of a High Fantasy Rogue perhaps?
What do you think?
That looks really good. With sculpt like that I am not bothered at all by that static foto shoot pose.
Really great mini (if stuck in a very show-offy pose, but it’s a rogue, it’s expected of them in high fantasy) and fantastic paintjobs.
Is it just me that would be tempted to add a whip one of her hands 😉
I would have thought a rogue would perhaps be a bit more concerned with stealth rather than cocking a hip and striking a come hither pose. If anything, she reminds me a little of the sorceress Triss Merigold from the Witcher novels as she is interpreted in the second (and forthcoming third) of the games based upon those novels (though here with longer hair).

I’m fine with the pose. Sometimes characters aren’t sneaking around, gathering energy in their hands, or stabbing people in faces but, instead, standing still and saying “I heard you wanted to hire the best….” or “that’s right, I’m the one who stole the eye of Ghiosdfo.”
eg: I wouldn’t want a Han Solo kicking it back in a cantina booth to show character (as a game mini), but standing all arrogant (as opposed to running and shooting) is just fine.
Cool. Jackson is doing some great work for Darksword.
I hope we see Jess and Marike paint all of Darksword’s new releases.
I like this idea of giving a new mini to two very different painters.
