Bring Dante Alighieri To Battle With Wargames Illustrated
September 23, 2021 by brennon
Wargames Illustrated has added another new Historical figure to their Giants In Miniature collection. Dante Alighieri might have been a well-known poet but he also fought on the battlefield too.
Dante Alighieri // Wargames Illustrated
This miniature depicts Dante as he might have looked when fighting with the Guelph Cavalry during the Battle Of Campaldino in 1289. You could drop him into your forces battling during the 13th Century long before he decided to pick up the quill.

Wargames Illustrated released this warrior version of the poet during the 700th anniversary of his death. Whilst this might be a very small snapshot of history it does get you thinking about playing out some "what if?" scenarios on the tabletop.
What do you make of this warrior version of Dante Alighieri?

Here I was looking for an inferno….
You could almost create a solo game where you as Dante fight off waves of demons like in the video game!
Solo campaign for Reign In Hell? hmmmm
Nice figure don’t know the poem.
You might want to address that—It’s the literary crown jewel of Western Civilisation! Look up 100 Days of Dante and start reading. 🙂
ill see if i can find it then thanks.
