Cryptozoic Rebirth The DC Deck-Building Game At Gen Con 2019

Cryptozoic has announced that the DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth is on its way to Gen Con, seeing simultaneous release at the event and at retailers on August 1st.
Rebirth is described by Cryptozoic as an evolution to the DC Deck-Building Game, adding in linked campaign scenarios, locations, and character progression into the mix.
“Rebirth is a Scenario-driven experience, and is typically played in Campaign Mode, though there are other ways to play,” said Matt Hyra, Lead Designer of DC Deck-Building Game: Rebirth. “At the end of each session, players keep track of various milestones on record sheets that can have consequences in the next Scenario. This game lets you become a true hero as you strategize with your teammates, use Assist cards to help each other, and even position your character to stop Villains in their tracks, protecting your fellow players . . . and the city too!”

Rebirth lets you play as Justice League characters Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash, Jessica Cruz, and Simon Baz, and the addition of new rules look to make this a fun game for both new-comers and those who have played the DC Deck-Building Game in its previous iterations.
Cryptozoic are also making a Launch Kit available for retailers, to help them introduce players to the game.
In the comics, Rebirth saw a bit of a return to some of the pre-Flashpoint status quo. However, this new set goes against that in someways and does promise to take the game down a different direction.
Does this look like a welcome addition to the game line for you?

The DC deck building game is, possibly, the best game out there to teach the concept of deck building. Start with week cards, buy from a common pile, discard and do again. The problem is the DC universe was stuck on as an afterthought and does not do well as Heroes and villains end up working together in your deck to compete against the heroes and villains working together for your opponent. This Rebirth is said to address that point somewhat. A good, basic game for people who like deck builders and don’t mind the IP taking a back seat.
This could be interesting card game.
