Crooked Dice Release Soldiers & Scientists + Battle Of The Planets Soon!
April 1, 2015 by brennon
Crooked Dice have added some more familiar looking faces to the list of characters you can use in 7TV. See what you think of the Army Section and Scientific Advis0rs that are out now...
You might recognise these characters from episodes of Doctor Who both new and old. It will be fun to see what kind of scenarios people put them in as I can see something really cool coming out of a scuffle in a science lab or a break in at some secret military facility.
Battle Of The Planets!
As well as that you did see it in the title so don't worry. Crooked Dice have picked up the licence for Battle Of The Planets which was the American version of an old anime series.
The show had five young heroes defending Earth against attacks from outerspace and especially planet Spectra. You can watch the intro part of the show in the Youtube video attached above.
The licence for this game is complicated apparently so you might not see miniatures for a while but it's certainly exciting if you're interested in Saturday morning-style heroes and campy villains.
...now if only they could get the He-Man licence.

Has someone at Crooked Dice been reading my contribution to the IP thread a few weeks back? Also, if this is an April Fool it’s past midday where I am 😉
A quick check of their FB page shows they posted it this morning….
😉
Battle of the Planets? G-Force? Oh, man. I remember watching this is 2nd grade before running out to catch the school bus. I missed the end of one episode (where Princess gets “eaten” by the spore-plants) in 1978 and only finished it last year when I found the episode on YouTube somewhere, finally closing this 36-year gap in my life. 😀
“Watching, warning against surprise attacks from alien galaxies . . . beyond space!”
I just hope they have a “7-Zark-7” miniature. 😀
I just wish it’d been posted on a different day…
They look vaguely familiar 😉
Wow, that’s a blast from my past that makes me feel old!
G-Force minis or even a skirmish game would be a great gateway drug to bring my wife into gaming. She’s a closet G-Force fan and I’ve been looking for a way to bring her to the dork side.
Terrahawks skirmish game anybody?
Oh wow! I remember that show! I always thought it so exotic, not like the shows I used to watch after school.
now that just makes me feel old now. Lol
Those Doctor Who characters are rather nice.
Ah yes, Battle of the Planets. Bastardisation of classic animes like Gatchaman.
Each year for my sons birthday and Xmas for the last few years he gets some sort of retro cartoon box set and last year it was Battle of the Planets and He-Man :-).
He’s been able to add it to his Ulysses, original Thundercats, dungeons and dragons, danger mouse and hong Kong Phooey complete series. As well as an enjoyable trip back into my childhood he seems to enjoy them to!
…Did BoW just fall for an April fool’s joke?
I always knew (wanted if this is an april fools joke))some bastard would do battle of the planets. now dear BOW I live in Belfast so it wouldn’t take long to come and get you if this is an Aprils fool joke so you have been warned
