Crooked Dice Meet 7TV’s New & Funky Smelling Fishfolk
March 24, 2020 by brennon
Crooked Dice has been exploring more of Lovecraft's world on the tabletop with a peek at a new set of Fishfolk! So, if you're into your Cthulhu and want to try your luck with a band of Pulp investigators against these rather eerie looking townsfolk then now you can!
These fellows have been infected by the madness of the Old ones and become changed both physically and mentally by their influence! To that end, it would be wise to keep a hand on your gun as you're wandering the wharves and cobbled streets of this seaside town. This is a local town for local people!
This particular set comes with what looks like the Mayor and perhaps a rather odd-looking School Madame plus two Sailors who seem intent on making sure you don't interfere with their business! I really like these sculpts which are packed with character and immediately get you thinking of different scenarios to play with them.
For example, I think it would be fun to have your Investigators arrive in the town and have a talk with the Mayor about a series of murders and disappearances down by the wharf. He passes it off as gobbledegook but you sense there is some truth to the claims. So, you head down to the wharf to look for evidence only to find yourself cornered by these sailors who look to beat you up and drag you off somewhere!
If you win then you bring your evidence back to the Mayor to find out more information. If you lose then maybe it's time to try and escape from a very smelly and fishy prison which has been erected down in the sewers with Fishfolk at your heel!
What do you make of these new Fishfolk from Crooked Dice?

Mmm something fishy about these Cod knows what it is? Lol
Nice for a underwater society game.
I don’t know… smells fishy… doesn’t seem to… “scale” right…
Blurgh…these puns stink worse than the fishfolk do!
I know nothing about the 7TV series but the minis are cool. It’s something I want to look into but it’s a real pipe dream. Nice sculpts all the same.
