By Crom! New Art & Miniature WIP For Conan: Hyborian Quest!
July 7, 2014 by brennon
I'm very excited by the prospect of this game coming out of Monolith called Conan: Hyborian Quest if you hadn't guessed already and so when they continue to drip feed us little previews I'm leaping on the news like a thirsty traveler in the desert!
First off we'll take a look at some more artwork from Adrian Smith for the Bossonian Archer which was voted for by the fans over on their Facebook page. Once again it's a brilliant piece that skirts the edge of high and dark fantasy that I think Conan handles well.
Beneath that we have a very early WiP image of a winged demon being sculpted by Stéphane Nguyen. It's really neat to be allowed to get a look at the game and its development at this very infancy and I think it's something we're very privileged to have access to as a community. We see it with video games more nowadays but as hobbyists it's awesome to see what the very beginnings of a game are like.
Talking of beginnings the guys over at Monolith are frantically testing and working out the game to get it just right and as you can see here they are playing out one of the scenarios from the game. More images of these sessions will be coming out in the future and maybe we could be lucky enough to see a bit of a video playtest too?
Are you as excited for this as I am?
I would be alot more exited if this was an actual miniature “wargame” Set in the Hyborian Age. Skirmish or mass it matters Not.
Well it technically will be a board game/skirmish game from what I can tell – with a scenario playing out on a given board with set objectives. I’m sure we’ll know a bit more about it soon enough.
I would say though – it would be awesome to have a Hyborian warband game where you choose a Kingdom.

That there is some fantastic looking artwork!
Must be difficult for it to be distinguished from a historical archer but think he has managed it.
