Craft Your Own Warriors With The Bonereaper’s Mortisan Soulmason
October 15, 2019 by brennon
Games Workshop are keeping up the previews for the Ossiarch Bonereapers for Age Of Sigmar with a new character, the Mortisan Soulmason. This fellow is the one crafting all of the warped warriors that Nagash has summoned into his service.

This fellow is one of those in charge of crafting these warriors, using the multitude of souls that Nagash and his host have reaped to form them into new fighters who inhabit suits of moulded bone and metal. The small vials that he carries are a dark mirror to those carried by the Sacrosanct Chamber and another little dig at Sigmar and his own army of reforged warriors.
Whilst some have talked about how zany and weird these models look...I absolutely love them now. I have started to become more enamoured with this faction as I've seen more of their characters, a big wildly different take on the undead which steps away from shuffling zombie hordes and the like.
Yes, they may look like villains from a Saturday morning cartoon but I hope people use that to their advantage. Go wild with the colour schemes when painting these and make them as livid and crazy as Skeletor and his buddies.
There shouldn't be long to wait until these models drop and join the world of Age Of Sigmar so watch this space.
What do you make of these Soulmasons?

Like yourself, Ben, love these guys. Would leave the ghost off this one, but it is telling a story so can see why they added it.
Also, put a microphone in the hand that the ghost is coming out off, add speakers, and you have the perfect lead singer for a Death Metal band 🙂
The headpiece of the chair already looks a bit like woofers. So drop the ghost, put the noise marine next to him, add an orc drummer and a dark eldar bass player. Bang, MotörHammer.
SLAANAGOR slaying it with their debut single “Boned To Dust”! \m/
that’s some bone dry humor there…. 😉
I’m really liking this army and cannot wait for it to be released.
Way too much going on with that model!
I think someone has seen the dino lords chair and copied that not that a unread skeleton is vain or anything?
I like the look this guy has going. His look reminds me of a lesser Nagash, and his bone-mech-chair and accessories convey that this guy is some sort of powerful bone-smith/necromancer. This range is shaping up really nice (despite the annoying “TOO MUCH DETAIL!” comments that infest these posts…), and I can’t wait to see the finished product.
That’s almost as worse as the original Nagash.
Was interested in this re-imagining of the Tomb Kings, and their new Screaming Catapult looks good as do some of the infantry but the range are generally mindless, CAD filled and childish – like toys rather than models or miniatures. GW generally know how to make sure their models look like art and not toys but they’ve been failing a lot recently.
Terrible.
We have an analogous faction which is likewise being released at the same time in Conquest’s Spire faction which imo win quite frankly.
