The Covenant Of Antarctica Step Into Dystopian Legions
October 24, 2013 by brennon
Spartan Games are adding another faction to the world of Dystopian Legions. This time the Covenant of Antarctica are stomping onto the battlefield behind a rather massive walker...
This faction has always been one that divided people. In a way they were seen as a little bit too Sci-Fi for the battlefield of Dystopian Wars and yet they still retain some Steampunk brilliance when you look at that massive creature stomping over the battlefield chasing that poor trooper.
I personally love them and their almost Dan Brown-esque take on the weird and wonderful. Next they will be firing ice bullets!
The infantry models themselves look like they will be pretty well up to scratch and even though they are renders Spartan Games have been doing well in the conversion of idea to tabletop figure. I'm looking forwards to seeing how they look painted.
Will you be taking them as your Legion of choice?

I like that walker even though it looks like it is in imminent danger of shooting its own legs off
Sooooooooooooo shiny.
Oooooh ! Colossal…
Most of the minis I’ve seen for this game just look awesome but I haven’t heard to much on the game play. Any plans to do more in-depth coverage of this game? I don’t know how popular it is but I would be interested in seeing it.
The metal models are far below the standard of today, miscasts, bad alignment and flat faces, they look nothing like their 3D renders when you open the box. The rules are awful being over-complicated and difficult to understand as they are not intuitive and really hope they change a lot when finally released. O’h, and they do not respond to feedback either.
You actually bring up a good point. I myself got a starter box and some added extras to play with friends and was rather let down with the over all quality. The resin is good and holds fine detail, but once you go into the metal models they look flat and many from the starter box had severe miscasts. One of them had no hand or rifle and two others had sections of scarf missing. Call it what you wish, I expect better from experienced model company.
