CoolMiniOrNot Announce Date For A Song Of Ice & Fire Kickstarter
July 17, 2017 by dracs
Cool Mini Or Not have announced that they will be bringing their miniatures game of A Song of Ice and Fire to Kickstarter on July 25th, 3PM EST.
This is pretty exciting news, especially given how promising the miniatures look.
I am particularly interested in what they have called the hidden side of war, attempting to recreate the political machinations of the series which often have far more impact than the battles themselves.
Is this a Kickstarter you plan on backing?

I agree the miniatures look great, but as to the gameplay!!!, as I have said before it’s not for me. And as to going to Kickstarter, really CMON?
what don’t you like about it exactly?
Have to say I’ve absolutely loved Eric Lang’s other games (Spartacus, XCom etc)
I posted a longish reply after the beasts of war video of the intro that Dawn did with CMON. I don’t want to repeat it here in case people think I am ranting, but if you are interested in my views on the gameplay as shown in that video I feel it’s worth a read. If you disagree that’s fine after all its only my opinion and if we all liked the same things then life would be boring. As I say I like the minis so may get some at some point, but as they have already said that… Read more »
I may pick up a few of the mini’s when they hit retail, to use in other systems. The renders look promising, although the guy on the right looks to be retaining water in his legs… too much time on a horse!
Seems interesting.
great figures.
So much I like about the game, not a lot of interest with my regular opponents, so proce point will decide.
I had hoped to win new players because of the IP. However, I am such a big fan, that I am really annoyed by CMON promising that all is canon with the premise that king Robert has died, but then they preview Sansa with her direwolf, which is killed before king Robert dies. So it immediately looks more like a money grab than a serious fan based game on the IP. Also, a friend told me a while ago that he is now completely out of love for 28mm for mass scale battles, and I do tent to agree with… Read more »
GoT has a broad audience and most of them would not be into miniature games. While the miniatures are amazing which is typical CMON, the game play I have seen thus far is meh! Within my miniature play group and at the club we play at, the opinion is the same that the game play is meh! This is a game you purchase for the miniatures and throw away the rest of the box. I can definitely see using many of the figures in other games.
