Concord Troops Drop In For Beyond The Gates Of Antares

Warlord Games have shown off some more render work and 3D modelling for Beyond the Gates of Antares with the coming of the Concord Drop Troops which you can see above and below...
Not bad looking and I do like the weaponry they have as well as the higher backed armour where the pack is giving them a more imposing look...
"Often it is necessary to land troops directly through the planetary atmosphere, and this is where the Concord C3′s Drop Squads come into their own. They are equipped with grav-chutes that enable them to dive safely through the atmosphere, and protected by suspensor field cases which shields them from the heat generated as they plunge downwards to the target. Drop troops are the most heavily armoured and armed of the Concord’s Strike forces, as befits units that must often capture and hold objectives without the support of conventional heavy equipment."
The Concord are the human faction in the game and it's going to be interesting seeing how they develop. It would be neat if they took them in a different direction that what you'd assume as humans.
What do you think of them?

That looks really interesting.
OK. Not sure how good a weapon the Jaws of Life are.
I keep telling people – it’s the galaxy’s deadliest tuning fork!
it looks similar to the halo plasmarifle
If you look closely, all variants and size classes of Plasma weapons in the game, from Plasma Carbines all the way up to Heavy Plasma Cannons, have that bifurcated design. It is the weapon’s signature, and as you say it does bear a resemblance to the Plasmarifle from the Halo games, though that said this kind of split barrel design has popped up in all manner of Sci Fi properties from Star Trek to Mass Effect.
The Concord is my favourite Antares faction, and I really like the look of these Drop Troopers. I will definitely be following their development. I would also like to point out that (not wishing to be unduly pedantic) technically the Concord is not the ‘human faction’ of the game. In the lore, the various civilsations of the Spill (the name for human occupied Antares space) are made up of various ‘Panhuman morphs’ – the name for genetically engineered/naturally evolved descendent species of baseline humanity. Most of the Concord forces are made up of humans that clsoely resemble the template of… Read more »
The over all models seem rather simplistic in design. That can have its benefits and disadvantages. The pros being a simple model can be painted rather fast and should pose a lower hurdle for beginners in the model collecting and painting hobby. The cons are that for experienced hobbyists, the models can come off too simple that its not a challenge for them or just looks like average in quality sculpting if that.
Nothing Krogan about them at ALL
Reminds me of my Mum’s boot shapers that I used to run around the house with when I was a kid. As I recall they also had devasting firepower. Excellent models, I’m going to have difficulty choosing my faction for Antares.
