Get Into Combat With The Joshitai Of Icarus Miniatures
May 31, 2015 by brennon
The Joshitai or 'Birthing Mothers' of Icarus Miniatures are the next up on the concept art roster for their Sci-Fi game. See what you think of these close combat masters in the artwork below...
So what role do they play?
"In times of war, Birthing Mothers may be called to form units because of their skills, and they fight with the same ferocity they would if they were defending their young. They also serve as combat medics, as each Birthing Mother is trained in healing, as well as war."
...which all sounds very helpful indeed.
In game they are armed with those massive glaives although they can also get up close with shotguns and flamethrowers if you so desired. They are deadly up close so are perfect for use defending an objective.
If you don't want them fighting they are also medics and can heal your soldiers in the field.
What do you make of the artwork?
"If you don't want them fighting they are also medics and can heal your soldiers in the field..."

Looks like mash up between Avatar & feudal Japan. I like the classic pose
Why would they get “up close” with shotguns and flamethrowers? Love the artwork.
Hmm. Now where did i see Japanese style blue aliens with stave weapons before…..
I have no clue what you mean, Bas-Tau-ion. None at all… 😉
No doubt it will all be for a Greater Good 😉
I will have a kROOT around on the internet and see if I can find something!
Also, they seem to remind me of Babylon 5 – wonder why.
A cross between GW’s Tau and Attack of the Clones cloning engineers.
