Get A Closer Look At The Ghar For Gates Of Antares
September 11, 2015 by brennon
With the news that there is a new Starter Set on the way for Beyond The Gates Of Antares by Warlord Games they have begun to give us sneaky looks at what's inside the set. One of these previews is of the Ghar Battle Squad and the sprue that makes them...
It's great to see Warlord looking to hard plastic kits for the Starter Set known as The Xilos Horizon. The Ghar are a race we've not really seen apart from in render form, so this is a good look at how their models are going to shape up.
Of course the Ghar aren't the only faction available in Beyond The Gates Of Antares and they have a series of metal Starter Sets for the other races available now too.
The Xilos Horizon itself will have a limited Launch Edition print run which will feature the metal model, the Concord Commander.
If you were worried that your faction of choice however wasn't going to be getting an upgrade then have no fear. Warlord have plans to turn all of the forces that are in the main rulebook into plastic kits in the near future so you won't have long to wait.
Vehicles, monstrous creatures and more from the mind of Rick Priestley are on the way in resin too so you have a lot to look forward to.
Will you be getting this set?

A good positive step to get plastic kits and a starter set. Game personally hasn’t grabbed me yet, but I’m keeping a very open mind about it and observing how it will evolve in the future. Either way, it’s great to see Rick Priestley’s new world come alive 🙂
I hope this game is a success.
The Ghar really appeal to me, I’m going to give this a go I think.
The renders look, to me personally, really fecking awful. Those little monkeys look too comical. The actual painted minis, among which I didn’t spot any space monkeys, look kick ass!
Those look really good.
Is it just me or does the top of the carapace look like an Orc face?
More insectoid if you look closely, I would say.
After a bit of a rocky start with the failed Kickstarter, it is great to see Antares really getting up a good head of steam. I plan on getting my hands on some plastic Concord as soon as possible.
Interesting look… I’ll be keeping an eye out still.
So one under the tree and one to play with at Xmas 😀
The human(oid)s don’t necessarily look the greatest for BtGoA, but the ghar are looking pretty sweet with all their robotic goodness!
Also: Any idea of the release date for The Xilos Horizon? “October” is quite vague. If I’m going to buy it, I might as well get the limited model 😉
‘Strike Vector One: The Xilos Horizon’ is due to be available to pre-order in October, and a little birdie tells me that it will be shipped and released in November.
