Claymore Preview New Men-At-Arms For Medieval Battles
August 28, 2024 by brennon
Claymore Castings previewed a few new 28mm Historical miniatures coming to their Medieval collection soon. These Men-At-Arms miniatures have been sculpted by Matt Bickley and represent 15th Century soldiers.

They could be used to represent European soldiers from Bohemia, Southern Germany and Austria but they could easily be worked into mercenary units from different armies. The details are gorgeous, as you'd expect from Bickley and the stances are great.

This is still a sneaky preview and it will take some time for these miniatures to be released but it's great to see more awesome Medieval miniatures coming out from Claymore. They do gorgeous miniatures that are very good at luring wargamers into playing the period.
What do you make of these Men-At-Arms?

aggressive little fellows. nice.
I like the stances a lot.
I’m not so fond of the proportions though, e.g. the short and thick weapons and larger / thick head gear like this quite voluminous bascinet and coif opposed to what must be almost slim shoulders considering the supposed thickness of protective clothing around them. It might only be a sliver but it makes all the difference in small scales.
Think that’s what makes them look somewhat small-ish.
