Claymore Castings Take Aim With Impressive New Archers

Claymore Castings put out a great teaser towards the end of November that we missed! As someone who loves their archers (no, not the BBC drama), it's awesome to see that Matthew Bickley's Bowmen are going to be coming out during the first portion of 2024.

There will be two packs for you to choose from with these Dismounted Archers that have been designed to match the rest of the Medieval range that Claymore has been curating over the last few years. As always, Bickley's sculpting is spot-on and I love the character that he has managed to work into each of these soldiers.

The dynamism of the sculpts is superb and it's great that we have so many different poses to choose from. If you're building up a skirmishing warband for Medieval games or you're making a bit of a diorama for your regiments in larger games, these are going to be brilliant for that. I love the fellow crouching low to take his shot and the other chap who is casually getting his bow ready as he watches the enemy march across a muddy field.

The second of the sets has more firing miniatures. Some of them have already loosed their arrows whilst others are getting ready for the command.

These would look awesome behind a set of stakes or perhaps on the walls of a castle, raining down arrows on the besiegers. I also like that a lot of the detail has also been worked into their padded coats so if you're looking to go fancy with the colours then it shouldn't be too hard!
