Swordpoint Classical Armies Book On Pre-Order Now
April 12, 2017 by brennon
To be released at Salute 2017 the Gripping Beast warband have put together a new Swordpoint book covering Classical Armies and fighting with them on the tabletop.
The book contains rules for armies during the period 500 BC to 300 AD and contains fifty-nine army lists with many variants on them too allowing you to, as the cover art suggests, lead the Carthaginians over the Alps to attack Rome and maybe change the course of history.
You will require a copy of Ancient & Medieval Wargames Rules, the first Swordpoint book, in order to use this as a heads up though.
Will you be picking up this new book?

It could be interesting to see where they go with this, they do warband battles very well (if the Beast of War and friends campaign is anything to go by) This is the first (?) expansion to their larger battle rules and I wish them every success , as a company they seem to be focussed on tight fun rules
your right to question it’s the second expansion, the first one being Dark Age armies, which makes for a convenient step into larger battles when your Saga warbands get too big.
Ah … Thanks I thought I could remember something earlier but I do err … rather frequently …. sigh. Cheers Thanks for the info B.
I’ve not tried Swordpoint yet although I’ve had the main rule set for a year now. It’s on my list of things to do this year.
The internet has been very quiet in regarding these rules. Not sure what it indicates
Would be interesting to hear some views – beyond people being annoyed that the basing doesn’t align with SAGA, I have heard very little. Seems more bought than played.
