Full Cities Of Sigmar Range Marches Into Age Of Sigmar This Week
October 23, 2023 by brennon
Games Workshop are going to be firing up pre-orders for all of the big Cities Of Sigmar miniatures for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar this coming weekend! If you missed out on the launch box for the Cities Of Sigmar a couple of months back, you can pick up all of the new rank-and-file miniatures plus a host of characters to lead the way.
Battletome: Cities Of Sigmar // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Shop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar @ Store.OnTableTop
Starting things off, we have the new Battletome for the Cities Of Sigmar which covers all of the new rules that you need to use the miniatures you'll see below. That means fifty Warscrolls and Pitch Battle Profiles and you can also get this book as a limited edition version if you prefer.
New Cities Of Sigmar Characters
At the head of the new Cities Of Sigmar miniatures, we have some great characters. The first of these is Tahlia Vedr, Lioness Of The Parch.
Tahlia Vedr, Lioness Of The Parch // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This veteran mercenary turned leader of the Freeguild commands from the front on the back of her tamed manticore, Infernadine. She is a veteran of many wars and looks pretty darn awesome on the back of her monstrous steed.
If you prefer a more sedate approach to command but with no less zeal, you could also pick up the miniature for Pontifex Zenestra, Matriarch Of The Great Wheel.

I love that Games Workshop has gone back to the weird and the wonderful with the Cities Of Sigmar. Their miniatures are distinctly bombastic and over-the-top which is in line with Warhammer Age Of Sigmar but there is also a great Gothic and Grimdark twist on these miniatures which reminds me of The Old World.
As well as those named characters, you can also get your hands on a bunch of miniatures for you to help build your own stories in The Mortal Realms. You'll have seen a fair few of these in previews over the last few months!
Freeguild Cavalier-Marshal // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Freeguild Marshal & Relic Envoy // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Alchemite Warforger // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Freeguild Command Corps // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Fusil-Major On Ogor Warhulk // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Some wonderful miniatures for those looking to really breathe some life back into the Cities Of Sigmar. For the longest time, the Cities Of Sigmar have just been living off old miniatures from Warhammer Fantasy Battles and it was about time that the faction got an update to match The Mortal Realms. We've been starved of actual mortal beings and this helps to remedy that.
The miniatures are weird and whacky and it would be neat to see where people take their kitbashes and conversions for the Cities Of Sigmar once they get these new miniatures in their hands. The future is also bright when it comes to where they could take these miniatures in the future as they explore specific Realms.
New Cities Of Sigmar Troops!
In addition to the wonderful character miniatures, you can also get plenty of rank-and-file miniatures to watch over your Dawnbringers Crusades.
Freeguild Steelhelms // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Freeguild Fusiliers // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Freeguild Cavaliers // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Ironweld Great Cannon // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
The core troops, the Steelhelms and the Fusiliers are great for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar but they should also be a fun addition to other armies. We've already seen people doing some fun tinkering with these to turn them into regiments for Warhammer 40,000 for example!
I really like that the Cavaliers have that vibe of the old Empire Knights whilst being so wildly over-the-top and "Age Of Sigmar". It feels like the best of both worlds in terms of design and I love it.
Dawnbringers: Book III – The Long Hunt - The Story Continues!
As well as all of that goodness, you can also get your hands on the new book for Dawnbringers and the continuing narrative in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar.

We only saw this last week as part of the Warhammer Day Previews and it's already heading out into the wild. You'll be able to get pre-orders in this weekend for the book and also two new regiments featuring the characters in this book.
Cryptborn's Stormwing // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
The Blades Of Belthanos // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Plus, if you've been keeping an eye on the Dawnbringers series but missed out on some of the previous miniatures, they are also going to be available for you to snap up this weekend. That means getting the miniatures for Grimhold Exile and Harbinger Of Decay.
Grimhold Exile // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Harbinger Of Decay // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
A new character to lead your Fyreslayers and a monstrous new miniature for the forces of Nurgle. The Harbinger Of Decay in particular is a great call back to a classic Nurgle Chaos Knight from back in the day and the sculpt is genuinely amazing.
As if that wasn't enough, this is also going to be the time to snap up The Blacktalons from the Black Library book series and recent animation on Warhammer TV.
The Blacktalons // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
A great set for fans of the show and they will also be featured with rules in the new book, The Long Hunt. That is a LOT of miniature goodness for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar this week. It feels like one of those moments when you're waiting for a bus and then two come along at once!
Will you be picking up any of these new miniatures this weekend?

If I were to buy just one model, it would be the Freeguild Cavalier-Marshal. The rest is a respectful pass for me. Nice but not something I really want.
The Harbinger of Decay is a lovely model, I can see a world in which I pick one of them up just to paint it.
But the more i see the cities of Sigmar, the more I see how necessary the return of The Old World is. They’re so soul less, they look every bit what they are – a corporation’s exercise in copyright.
I think we can all tell which particular Death Dealer that Harbinger of Decay is inspired by. For some rather obvious reason it’s got me thinking of a famous Frazetta painting.
All that money paying all that talent to create miniatures as forgettable as that. Crack open WFRP, or a few WFB army books, read about the interesting heroes and soldiers, look at the incredible artwork, and consider how much of it you would love to have as real, new miniatures on your table. And then realize all that opportunity is being wasted.
Got to agree the Freeguild Cavalier-Marshal and the Harbinger Of Decay look like amazing models.
Never ever going to play AOS, but I would defo buy and paint those.
that’s stunning looking game figures.
