The Slaves To Darkness are going to be getting a bit of polish when the new Battletome releases. The standard Chaos Warriors, Knights, Lords and Champions are going to be getting a bit of an update so that, be you a follower of Archaon or Be'lakor, you'll be able to take to the battlefields of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar in style.

The first of these miniatures is the mighty Chaos Lord who comes mounted on the back of a Daemonic beast. I still absolutely love the aesthetic and general look of the Slaves To Darkness and Chaos Warriors of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar, even if they come with all the additional painting work! I am also a big fan of the hammer when it comes to a Chaos Warrior's weapon of choice although you can choose a lancer.

There is also a foot character coming to join the fighting for the legions of Chaos. The Exalted Hero is brandishing a fearsome runic sword but could also be armed with a pair of axes.

I quite like most of the miniature but I'm not so sure about the helmet. I think it looks a bit too thin for the miniature. I reckon it would look better with a "fatter" helm for want of a better word, potentially with a different visor/slot but there is an unhelmeted version. I would happily go stomping into battle behind this fellow. The aesthetic of the general Slaves To Darkness just works for me. I like the look of warriors of Khorne or Tzeentch but there's something about the classic Undivided style that just works.

As well as the new character miniatures, we've also got some neat updates to the general Slaves To Darkness range. I like the existing Chaos Warriors and Chaos Knights just fine but they're getting a bit of a revamp to make them a bit more diverse.

I like that the weapon options and the stances make them feel a little more dynamic and they feel even more of a mockery of the Stormcast Eternals that Sigmar has decided to blight The Mortal Realms with.

There are going to be options in the set for you to make Chaos Warriors with both these mighty halberds but also hand weapons. So, you've got some good choices depending on how you want to chop up the servants of silly ol' Sigmar.

Some Warriors Of Chaos have earned themselves the right to charge into battle on the back of terrifying chargers. They can be armed with lances or hand weapons, whichever you see fit to arm them with. Again, big, bruising warriors that look like they could properly give the Stormcast a run for their money.

There is even the option to arm the Chaos Knight Champion with a magical hammer. I am eager to see what people do with these new miniatures when it comes to the paint jobs. Lots of moody grimdark nonsense and glowing evil weapons seems the right way to go.
