A Champion Of War & Adventuring Heroes From Avatars Of War
May 18, 2016 by brennon
Avatars Of War have added a new Champion Of War to their range of Apocalypse characters which will be slaughtering hordes of foes in the field...
As you can see he is armed to the teeth with the two big axes attached with chains so he can swinging them around AND a pair of swords at his side too. If that wasn't enough he also has a sword on his back too for when those other blades fail him.
I think he likes fighting.
Adventuring Parties
For those of you looking to expand upon your collection of role-playing and dungeon crawling heroes we have good news for you. Avatars Of War are working on an Adventuring Party which will be produced in plastic.
Here you can see some of the ideas for the sculpt above who looks like a sterling Barbarian. They are also going to work on more stereotypical characters like a Wizard, an Elf and a Dwarf.
More Work-In-Progress shots will be coming out for this set as time goes by so we shall keep an eye on it.
What do you think?

love him classic chaos.
To bad AOW never realy finisch there kickstarter of dwarfs (promised a lott, deliver a few) still waiting after like 4 years on my dwarfs.
A real shame when they produce nice minis, the sales and produce is real crapy.
They look nice.
I just cannot get into companies like this. That is so clearly a chaos warrior. You can argue that a mahreen from spehss, dark elf, or orc isn’t an IP as GW was clearly not the first to come up with those ideas, but I don’t feel the same about chaos warriors. To me, that is clearly so Games Workshop. Oversized shoulders, dark gods, axes, and red paint. Could this be a more blatant rip off? Might as well just order some knock off miniatures from China.
ffs
Eh, many of their sculptors are ex citadel. And they make models to use as proxies – including for lovers of old GW products that have been discontinued such as Realm of Chaos.
You realise GW have stopped making a lot of their most loved models – so Avatars of War provide.
And if you can get these models from china then PLEASE. TELL. US. WHERE.
Not sure about the barbarian’s pose. It looks like he’s passing his weapons to his partner to store in the loft rather than fighting. Perhaps if he held the axe nearer the handle that would help.
Looks like they’re trying to emulate the pointless clutter GW has gone with lately. I like the first adventurer, though.
Very nice.
outstanding piece of work
The 80’s called. They want their double-axe pose back :p
