Drop Cannon Fodder In The Line Of Fire With Wargames Atlantic

Wargames Atlantic has now fired up pre-orders for their Cannon Fodder set for use in your Sci-Fi wargames. This is a brand new set of 28mm plastic miniatures that you can drop into the line of fire without having to worry about your precious regular troops.
Cannon Fodder // Wargames Atlantic
There are thirty miniatures available in the set that can be assembled in a variety of ways. You could build them as prisoners who have been given guns and shoved onto the battlefield. You could also build them as the rank and file that are called to defend space stations and backwater installations throughout the galaxy.

Weapon options include standard rifles alongside some heavy weapons, plasma weapons, grenades and more. This means you can decide just how much you trust your troops! Do you give those prisoners that plasma gun or do you think they might end up turning it on their commanders?

This is a pretty neat looking set of miniatures that could be mixed and matched with the rest of the Death Fields range. The idea of a grim penal legion is the way forward for this set I think. I like the idea of painting some up as new "recruits" whilst others are grizzled veterans who have served many, many tours of duty yet still have time to burn off their sentence.
Are you going to be picking up this Cannon Fodder set?

I’m sure there’s a few imperial guard players out there today who are already eyeing up some conversations and reinforcements. Great stuff.
Another beautiful day in the Core.
Fab looking figures.
These are going to have to jump straight to the top of the buy list when they come out. These are great if someone want to create a 40k 40k penal legion. It has not existed post 3rd edition Codex I believe but units like the Last Chancers I am sure more than a few people will be painting them Orange.
Also it is worth highlighting how close those rifles are to the imperial guard ones. As someone who can never get enough officals ones for kit bashing those are going to come in handy for doing other units as well.
Interesting set and rather nice-looking figures. I’m not sure the paint job is selling them as well as it could, they look rather flat. As in some of Wargames Atlantic’s multi-pose kits, I think some of the arms are a little odd in their positioning but all-around a rather nice kit, I particularly like the inclusion of various backpacks! Very good value and I look forward to seeing what people do with these. A lot of people are going to think imperial guard but I think this kit has so much more potential than being limited to the land of… Read more »
This is the kit I’ve been waiting for!
Generic canon fodder for stargrave … soo tempting
These do nothing for me but I wonder if it is, as @jamescutts says, because of the paint job. I can’t even put my finger on what it is that I don’t like. Have to say though, probably the only box they’ve made so far that hasn’t turned my head
Meh, I’m with a few others. These don’t really tick boxes for me. Its the comically large zippers that make it look almost like an open button up with double pockets. I’m sure they will make great penal battalions though.
